CTC#177 Which Favourite retiring product to Feature??

With all the excitement of the new catalogue I always have a little tinge of sadness as some of our favourites retire to make room for the New. There are so many sets retiring that I couldn't choose just one. My card this week uses lots of threes. Three of the retiring colours - Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum and Dapper Denim. One of the new greens has the same intensity as Emerald but I'm really really sad about Dapper Denim.  Three badges: using the Badges and Banners set- I really love this punch as a background for focal points and sentiments, I will miss this fabulous tool. And the third "Three" is the 3 pansies stamped with Flower Shop and punched using the Pansy Punch. From framed 3D art to countless cards I have really loved this punch.  I won't be selling this pair in the near future. Here's a few of my favourite projects using this punch. More details here more details here more details here You can still pu...

CTC#164 CASEing the gorgeous KITS in the Occasions Catalogue

Welcome back for the Sunday night treat - CASEing the kits section from the catalogue. There are several just gorgeous kits in this catalogue - and so stunning when completed. The best thing about the Lots of Happy Card Kit is that you can purchase the refill kits. Recently for our Stamping Retreat we included one full 1/4 of a refill kit in everyone's goodie bag. They received everything they needed to make one of each of the beautiful card you see in this week's inspiration pic. However, I decided instead this week to CASE the layout of one of the cards on the bottom of page 17. I love the  background stamping using some text,  a little feature element  a coloured card base some matching sponging behind the element to tie the colours together and a sentiment stamped over the background I did get a bit carried away in the end..... not unusual.....and ended up with lots of backgrounds.  So I made them all up. My goal this weekend is to use up all the ...

CTC#73 playing with Timeless Textures

welcome back to this week's episode of CASEing the Catty for another Sunday night. there are so many great inspiration projects in the catalogue and this week we are looking at the Botnaicla Gardens section from pages 26-29. You may have arrived from Rebecca  or you may be starting here. Be sure to follow the links around to see all the great inspiration projects from the team. If you get lost you can find the team at the CTC page HERE Luckily the Timelss Textures set is also in this section and I love all the great looks you can achieve with it so I had a bit of fun playing. I took inspiration from two cards on the top left of page 29 I heat embossed the cup with white embossing powder and sponged the Mint Macaron over. The timeless textures underneath has been embossed with clear powder,an cut the teaspoon out of silver foil. For the second card I used both the timeless textures and an old favourite- Flower Shop in Rose Red which looks more obvious...

Flower Pot cards- perfect for a special message

I love fresh flowers, I love giving flowers and I love having fresh flowers at home, but sending them can be problematic. A solution - send a flower pot card! The lucky recipient is sure to smile. These cute little cards fit in a regular envelope and have a strip of magnetic tape on the back so they could be put on the fridge. The panel with the flowers slides out for your message. The possibilities are endless for colour combinations and flowers. I have used Flower Shop and the coordinating pansy punch, and a variety of papers and colours. These are a few samples. I'll have lots of these cards at the markets this weekend in Biloela, as well as the Luna Markets in Rockhampton Friday Night. Thanks for looking,  Liz.

Crazy for you colourful thankyou

Following on from the trifold card I made for the CTC challenge last week this was the card we made at class on the weekend.  ( you can see the original -brown/blue/green version here ) . The card base is 10.5cm x 26cm , scored at 10 and 20.5 cm. Emboss the 10cm flap with a folder of your choice - the brick wall looks great as does the wildflower meadow or the Lovely Lace . The flowers are stamped using the baby wipe technique  and the flower image from Crazy About You, and punched out with the scallop circle punch.  They are adhered along the edge of the 6cm flap to give an uneven edge. I then lightly sponged over the raised  embossing. I picked up some of the ink from the baby wipe and lightly finger walked the Dictionary stamp over the narrow flap. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and punched out with the 1" circle and the backing circle is punched with 1 1/4" punch from a spare flower.  I'm not normally an orange girl but these appeal to me!...

CTC#41 Everyday section - so much to choose from

Spoilt for choice for inspiration this week! Welcome to the bloghop for CASEing the Catty - using the EVERYDAY section of the catalogue for inspiration. You will have arrived here from the fabulous Rebecca , I know you will have seen some amazing inspiration so for, and you can go right around the circle if this is your first stop . For my inspiration I used the white grateful card on page 87. I used the beautiful leaf image from  World of Dreams  to cover the lefthand flap of the card and then fussy cut around the edges. I do love the Brick Wall embossing folder.  To make the small white flowers stand out I punched them out of Shimmery White card with the Itty Bitty Accents flower punch . The sentiment is one of the handy ones from All Boxed Up. I used the fine metallic silver thread as a highlight and some silver rhinestones. ( the silver peg is only to hold it closed for the photo) Of course I couldn't stop at one colour! So I tried the Summer S...

CASEing the Catty #3 Birthdays

The Catalogue is always a great place for inspiration and I have been wanting to join in this new Challenge site but have only found time this week to jump in. This week we are asked to CASE anything form the Birthday sections from p42-59. I love the simplicity of the design on page 55, and I absolutely love the new KRAFT cardstock so this was an easy choice for me. I have used the new Photopolymer stamp set Bordering Blooms in Wild Wasabi, and have used strips of both Wild Wasabi and Pool Party, embossed with the Delicate Designs embossing folder. The layered flower uses the Pansy Punch and Flower Shop stamp set in Strawberry Slush and the Blossom Flower punch behind it, while the Birthday Wishes sentiment comes from Four You. Add a little bit of bakers twine in island Indigo to finish it off. Easy! Would be a great class card. Thanks for looking and check out the great Birthday ideas by the design team at CASEing the Catty  This version is a narrower card and uses ...

SUO Challenge #95 - Featuring Flowers

Seems a perfect topic for me!!  Basic instructions from Stampin connection. My dimensions are slightly different- I simply cut a pice of A4 cardstock across its width at 31/2" and scored and 31/2, and 7 inches. The inside piece is 5 inches by 21/4. in this way you can get 2 flowers pots from one sheet of A4 paper and it will fit nicely in a C6 envelope. The flower Pot card has been around for a long time but I wasn't yet a SU convert at the time it was very popular so I have really enjoyed making these today- they have been on my "to do " list for a while. I have used Cajun Craze as my base card and where there didn't seem to be enough texture to the base I have stamped in versa mark using the Clockworks background stamp. I used a variety of Ribbons/twine old and new and some retired buttons for decoration on the closure. To decorate the lip of the pot I have used a variety of embossing folders. For flowers I used a combination of Mixed Bunch,...
