Lillybet's Papers

I'm busy creating for the coming Christmas Markets and one of my focus areas this year is boxed sets of cards.  This set uses a few techniques and includes a Happy Birthday male, HB female, and 2 x Hello friends cards. Generally I don't include too many sentiments, but a mixed set is always popular, although most people just prefer Blank cards. This week at GDP #108 we are CASEing Bryan King,and I have CASEd several parts of his layout. The sentiment panel sits over some black metallic thread. The background is a watercoloured panel stitched to the card base.  The little elements are wooden pieces from my "useful box" and I have inked them using the babywipe technique using Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy inks. The same 'inkpad' was used to add some background detail using the Gorgeous grunge paint splatter and minidots. HI and welcome - as the year draw to a close and everyone is super busy this is a short post. You can find the full crew here . I didn't purchase any of the kits this year but I fell in love with the Tin of Tags stamp set which was designed to go with the tin of tags kit. One of my good friends purchased the kit and had a wonderful time creating together with her daughter both the stitched cards and the tiny tags. Such a great way to bring people together. I must confess I was inspired on Pinterest with a similar layout for this card but I can't find it again to give credit for the original. I have been using a few Australian made dies recently and love the new Grasstree die which comes in a set with the old Rusty Ute. These are some sets of cards I have  made using strips of old maps-( these are from the Mundubbera sheet 9046) and the grass tree die. I have cut the shape from Always Artichoke card and then sponged the flower stems with Early Espresso, and stamped some foliage texture on the leaf base using leaves from French Foliage. I love how they have turned out. The envelope and the inside of the card also have some stamping using images from Tap, Tap, Tap, Gorgeous Grunge and Because you Care. I love to layer these sorts of images to finish off my cards. They come packaged like this. thanks for looking, Liz

The CTC#50 blog this week is CASEing tags. There are so many tags in the Christmas Catalogue and loads of gorgeous samples in the Bloghop I encourage you to have a look, you can find all the participants here . I was away and unable to join in last week but I have been so inspired by Jess's CASE that I have CASE'd her!!! The Catalogue samples Jessica Williams gorgeous tag. So I thought I would have a go using some party straws I have lying around from last Christmas, and some red Perle Crochet cotton. I love the rustic look with the twigs, but this is just a fun version with a nod to Jess. I do love the red foil on the vellum, and I think next time I would use longer pieces but this was done with just 3 straws cut in half. I'm so excited about this new blog as they are all amazing designers and some of the team members are among my favourite card makers and designers. It will be lovely to see what they all create each week.  To start things off they have gone with a colour scheme. You can check out the Blog with all the team members Here I have gone for another wedding card as the colours are so well suited. There is a lot of clear embossing on the different papers - French Script (sadly retired - my first ever Stampin' Up! purchase and still a favourite!) on the So Saffron   DSP paper and Gorgeous Grunge on the Pink Pirouette.  I did some So Saffron aqua painting for the background and tissue flowers, and  I used the  Pewter Embossing Powder  (sadly retired) on the Expressions Naturals Elements quite easily. Spoilt for choice for inspiration this week! Welcome to the bloghop for CASEing the Catty - using the EVERYDAY section of the catalogue for inspiration. You will have arrived here from the fabulous Rebecca , I know you will have seen some amazing inspiration so for, and you can go right around the circle if this is your first stop . For my inspiration I used the white grateful card on page 87. I used the beautiful leaf image from  World of Dreams  to cover the lefthand flap of the card and then fussy cut around the edges. I do love the Brick Wall embossing folder.  To make the small white flowers stand out I punched them out of Shimmery White card with the Itty Bitty Accents flower punch . The sentiment is one of the handy ones from All Boxed Up. I used the fine metallic silver thread as a highlight and some silver rhinestones. ( the silver peg is only to hold it closed for the photo) Of course I couldn't stop at one colour! So I tried the Summer S...

I have such a lot of beautiful paper and I tend to hoard it - mostly because I find it hard to cut into a beautiful print! Maybe you are like me? Yet when I make a card using the beautiful paper that makes me happy too, so I have told myself to stop hoarding and start sharing ! I still think that the Venetian Romance DSP is one if the nicest sets I've ever bought and I am pleased to see it at such a good price on the clearance rack. This design is one I saw on Pinterest and gave been waiting to try it.  I did add a few extra details.  I used Gorgeous Grunge   with Island Indigo and Pistachio Pudding to decorate the envelopes and the retired hostess set Because You Care for the sentiment. I love the Kraft card on Soft Suede. The inside has only a strip of DSP to decorate to keep it super simple.
