It's Kelly's social stamping monthly bloghop and this is my project. I didn't really notice the Pierced Blooms dies in the Jan-Jun catalogue at first.  I'm not sure the catalogue does them justice- and I don't think my photos will either, but they are absolutely gorgeous.I din't purchase the stampset but you can use the dies as a stand alone product as they contain so much gorgeous detail. This month Kelly has challenged us to create using the BRIGHTS palette. It's so nice to be a part of this casual friendly group of amazing crafters - keeps me motivated and connected; and it's great to be using the Brights.They are always fun happy colours. I have had a greeting card pinned to my noticeboard for many many years and although I don't adhere to its beautiful advice all the time I do love to read it and be reminded to slow down. I was inspired last year by a framed wreath tutorial. I think it was by Mikaela Thitheridge using the sprig punch, and had LED fairy lights wound around inside it. It was beautiful and although I purchased and read her tutorial I never got around to making it, ( and now I can't find it lol....)  but I have been wanting to create a few items using the leaf punch as I will be using it in an upcoming class and wanted to show how versatile it is. So this is my small version. I used one complete A4 sheet of 5 different greens: Call Me Clover   Shaded Spruce   Mint Macaron   Garden Green   Soft Sea Foam and punched as many leaves as I could from each sheet. I put all the leaves in a clear plastic storage case and simply made a tossed salad with them and scrunched up handfuls so they were mixed and a little distressed. WELCOME back - it's so good to be here again. I've been away and super busy lately with a 3 day river festival market in Rockhampton last weekend,  with stock for the shop, with teaching classes and with family - none of whom live close by.  So it's lovely to be back and this week we are taking inspiration from the Garden Lane DSP colour palette- so many greens. .  I have a project which I have been working on to teach at Injune in central Qld next month so a few friends had a practice run today. Three ladies created the same basic design but you can see how individual differences are so wonderful, and how different background pieces change the whole look of the project. The central panel  of 6x6" is watercoloured using only Mossy Meadow, but everyone's turned out different. The magnolias are created from Whisper White with Daffodil Delight centres. I have always loved a 3D frame and try to create a sampler each time there is a new catalogue. The Needlepoint Nook suite lent itself to this quite easily. A friend gave me a stash of goodies from a well loved sewing room which included these gorgeous thread wheels and lots of tiny timber spools of cotton, I have had some in a jar as part of my kitchen decor but moved them to this new home. Included in the stash was a beautiful button which inspired the handmade birdsnest in both frames I have made using the Cathedral Window style. There are a few squares using the embroidery panel from the thinlits, some fussy cut floral embroidered flowers, and a few things I love. It is based on the Cathedral Window quilt pattern and the circles of DSP are all Mossy Meadow, punched using a 2" punch, the squares are 1 3/8" and they are all raised on either a single or double layer of dimensionals or thick card. Looking back is part of going forward right? So I have put together a few of my favourite projects from this year. Card making is my favourite crafting and being on the design teams at Colour INKspiration and CASEing the Catty means that I am constantly challenged to look at new ways of doing things, but also an incredible opportunity to learn from others. I also have to challenges myself to participate in challenges which are not my usual colour schemes/ style etc so it is a good opportunity to grow. Here are the links to a few of my favourites.
