CTC#251 Brightly Gleaming Colour Combination with a layout on the side!

Hello crafty friends. How did it get to be Sunday already?? Lovely colour palette we are using this week, Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock, Vanilla and Mossy Meadow with copper. I am not very focused on Christmas, so used the Hot air balloons for a change this week, and I CASE'd the little square card at the top of the inspo image. I love mini cards and have been working on 3 x 3's this weekend so this one was easy to whip together using the colours and layout. I did watercolour the background as the starry copper DSP sky was a bit dark, and the little copper star embellishments are so cool for adding some bling without being too much. Next this week is Bec . She loves a bit of sparkle so I wonder what gorgeousness she will have created with the copper touches. Send us a photo of your creations using these wonderful colours. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!"

CI#250 LAYOUT PAGE 46

Hello again and welcome back. This week is a layout challenge from the four cards on page 46, so I have chosen the card on the bottom right. I love timber elements, and I love vellum, and I'm quite keen on square cards so it was an easy pick for me. The catalogue card must be quite small since the timber leaves are not large, but I wanted a full size card so I've scaled it up a little. My finished card is 41/2" square, so I added another background layer. My tips this week: I love vellum wrapped around- it's how I adhere vellum without worrying if any adhesive will show through,  simply use double sided adhesive tape along the edges at the back and fold the vellum strip firmly around the cardstock the twine looped behind the sentiment piece is super easy to apply - I just staple it in place since it will be hidden. This also has the advantage of not adding any height from a knot or bow which will interfere with your postage costs i

CI#65 - a dramatic scheme this week

Welcome to the colour INKspiration bloghop. What a stunning and dramatic colour scheme we have this week. I'm excited to see what these colours inspire everyone to create. I love Nicole's gorgeous card this week, so many lovely details. I wasn't sure where to start but thought I should definitely challenge myself with a stamp set which I loved in the catalogue but haven't really used yet. So I pulled out the Tasteful Textures stampset and the coordinating dies. They really are gorgeous and I feel bad that I haven't experimented with them very much. The gorgeous colours just had to be watercoloured, so that was my starting point, and that huge round moon suggested a large round element on the card. The champagne foil worked well to let the colours show through and I teamed up the sentiment on Gray Granite with a narrow textured strip of each of the colours. Taking inspiration from the sample on page 11 of the catalogue with the image of the bundle I t

CTC#249 - decorating with Toile Tidings

Hello again for another week. This week we are CASEing the Toile Tidings Suite pages 6-11. Rather than CASE a specific project I have a collection of projects which I made for my recent Christmas Class to showcase the beautiful DSP. I had a card in last week's CTC and this week I have some gift bags. I love the colours of the paper- Real Red, Very Vanilla and Garden Green. And as I said last week I am not so keen on the Northern European winter images, but it's amazing how that is not so significant when the paper is made into projects. The beautiful mini curved keepsake box is SO EASY to use. I whipped up a bunch of these in no time. I think they make lovely decorations, but I did think they would work really well for an Advent Calendar too. I can see them as gorgeous table decorations. I also did one in plain Red Cardstock, and I quite like the look of the plain version mixed in with the others. Here's my display from my Christmas card class. An
