World Card Making Day Oct1 - sharing creativity

T o celebrate World Card Making Day, I am participating in Kathryn's Blog Hop of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from All Around the World to share a card that I have made today (or recently). Kathryn has also challenged us to post this card within a week to someone special, as we all love to receive a big paper hug in the mail. I couldn't agree more. I love the wildflower "Meadow Dies" and have had some fun cutting lots of wildflowers from various papers, and creating little montages with them, layered over an embossed panel. This uses the "Leaf Fall"   Embossing Folder. You can get endless variations of the flowers using patterned papers, and 3 stems is enough. I posted back in April with my tip on how to paint the wildflowers   They look great on both white or vanilla. I do love the kraft card stems in there too. this one uses the Hive and Eucalyptus Embossing Folders I have already posted a bunch of cards this week- my friendly Post Mistress - Treena - ...

CI#130 a handy technique using strips of card

Welcome back for another round of Colour INKspiration.  This week's colour inspo picture has all the purples- now this is not my go to colour so I don't have a lot so card in these shades, so I used a handy technique that doesn't require much. I don't know if there is a name for this, but I do know it is not a new technique, but it is quite effective. Picture credit  https://imgur.com/gallery/Xajb8Uk For the feature panels take strips of cardstock in different widths, and narrow strips of foil card - I used gold here (it's great way to use up the edges of scrap pieces). Edge the plain card with foil and adhere using strong tape to a large piece of window sheet (acetate). Leave small even gaps between the strips so that they will look as though they are floating. Using your cut and emboss machine cut the largest plain circle . It may need hand trimming if the cut doesn't go all the way through the assembled piece as it is quite thick.  From my piece of window she...

Meadow Dies are so beautiful and my tip for how to paint them.

I love the beautiful shapes of the Wildflowers in the Meadows Dies. There are 4 floral stems, 2 leaves stems and 2 butterflies and 2 tags. The dies can be used alone or in conjunction with the Quiet Meadow stampset. For these samples I have added some additional texture using the sunflower dies and some pink foil. I am so happy that both of these products are continuing on in the next Annual Catalogue due out in May. I have teamed them here with the beautiful Hand Penned DSP which has already sold out. But any pastel background piece will work.  My tip to paint the dies is to run a full sheet of Shimmery White Cardstock through the die cut and emboss machine, and to leave them in the base sheet to colour. I have used an aqua painter and coloured the flowers and butterflies with Magenta Madness and Bumblebee, and the leaves and stems with Garden Green and Just Jade. Once the colours are dry you can press them out of the sheet and you are ready to go. Here's another sample using a si...
