social stamping blog hop with IN Colours and a fun fold

Hello and welcome to the social stamping hop for March. ...Wow How is it March already? As the year rolls on we are getting closer to the end of the Annual Catalogue , which means the launch of a brand new set of 5 In Colours and the retirement of the 5 listed for June 2019- June 2021. I will be very sad to see Pretty Peacock and Seaside Spray leave us particularly, but at the same time I am intrigued to know what the new ones might be. I have used Pretty Peacock for this week's card- a fancy fold. This is the card closed and when you open it - a wiper pops up with a decoration- in this case another butterfly. Of course there's a little stamping on the reverse, and the envelope. So we are all creating using In colours and I would like to share a Wiper Card with you. If you follow me you will know I love a fun fold or interactive card. As most card tutorials are for imperial measurements I always try and remake the card using Australian metric measurements and I have done this a

February card classes Tri-Panel DSP Fancy Fold Card - great way to Showcase DSP

There are so many gorgeous pieces of patterned paper in my collection that I love cards which enable you to show both sides. This is one of the features of this Tri-Panel DSP Fancy Fold I was shown this fold in a tutorial by Bronwen Stewart recently and I loved it as a fabulous way to showcase DSP. It's super easy. Bronwen's measurements were imperial so I have altered it slightly to suit our Australian sizes, and changed the scoring just a little. This version is made using the beautiful Bloom DSP which was free during Sale A Bration with any purchase of $90 product. 1.This is the card closed You can see the navy pattern from the inside visible on the front where a narrow section is folded to the front and adhered down before adding sentiment and flowers. 2. when you open the first flap there is plenty of space for more sentiments / stamping / decoration 3. When the second flap is opened  it reveals the inside panel for your message When you have scored your DSP decide on your

Pretty Perennials #1 Card Classes -simplestamping

This #simplestamping card uses a 1" circle punch as I was creating cards using only the stampset for a class. This same concept is one I used recently. Although the small circle punch is no longer available there are several small punches which will work with this layout.  I recently posted  this card which was CASE'd from the Sale a Bration Brochure. You can see more details here  . At class we used the same concept but a different punch- if you had the dies you could cut the flowers individually. It is some #simplestamping using the gorgeous Pretty Perennials set. Here's another version using only 2 colours. The possibilities are endless. same, same but different there are just so many ways to use this stampset once you get going. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Sand and Sea DSP for the Double Front Layout

As you saw yesterday I love both Fancy fold Cards and cards that use DSP. The double front card which I have done a few times now is perfect for both these goals. This one uses the beautiful Sand and Sea DSP- totally gorgeous and very ocean themed on one side but totally versatile on the reverse. I've done the double front card before (you can search using the labels bar on the right banner of this page for more samples and instructions) and you'll find links to more fancy folds on the PAGE icon at the top of this page. This is what I mean about how beautiful the papers are. and coming tomorrow..... I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Butterfly Bouquet launches today

Stampin’ Up! has always had lots of sets with butterflies- stamps, at least 4 punches, thick die plates, embossing folders, papers and thinlits. I have owned a selection but not all of these, so I was not overly excited when the news came of another butterfly set..... but then I saw some samples created by the Artisan Team and I knew I had to add them to my collection.  They are STUNNING! Here’s one of my first creations.  The large single die cuts all the stamped images at once, as well as cutting all the whole butterflies in one of the sheets of the 6x6 DSP . Individual dies cut the detailed butterflies which I have cut from vellum here. The finely textured woodgrain paper 12 x 12 is also available while stocks last. You’ll  love this set. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz
