CTC85 Baby card sweetness

Well I didn't quite get posted for CTC#85 this week, but this is the card I was going to share, based on the cute monotone onesie at the bottom of page  59. I have been wanting to try this technique for a little while and I'm quite surprised at how easy it is.   It involves using the marker pens to add the ink to the rubber, and for these I have simply drawn  lines across the solid rubber stamp to create horizontal stripes on the romper. Pretty darn easy really.  continuing on my crusade of using up old bits and pieces I have used some scraps of white on white resist paper and sponged in blue to create a coordinating background since I din't have any DSP to match. I do love the layering squares framelits, they give such a nice fine elegant border. Do go and check out the CTC blog for some amazing baby samples this week, I'll be back with more baby cards tomorrow, thanks for looking,  Liz

Pretty pink standup corner box cards for the Handmade Expo Markets.

So I do really love a card that sits up or has a fancy you fold, and this design is super simple and ever so effective. I have seen it before but it surfaced again recently on the GDP challenge which I follow avidly ( though I seldom get a chance to enter despite my best intentions). This is a simple card which folds flat for postage, and I will have a whole stash of them at the Rockhampton Handmade Expo Markets markets next week . I will also be running a class to make this later in the year. Take piece of A4 cardstock and trim it to    25cm x 15cm Cut panels 4 at                                              5cm x 14.5cm cut 3 pattern panels and one plain panel at   4.5cm x 14cm cut two circles of scrap cardstock                1.25inches front decorative panel whatever size you like Wit...

CTC82 Christmas inspired but not for christmas!! Pink Shaker.

Hello again, welcome back for our Sunday night blog hop. this week on CTC a we are taking inspiration from the Christmas section which is Chapter 2 in the lovely new Catalogue from pages 26-37 You may have arrived from Bec , or you may be staring here, but jump in here and follow around the group. Well I don't know about you but I can't possibly think about making Christmas projects yet!!! But that's quite OK because  the idea of CTC is to use the catalogue as a springboard. for instance You can use one or any or several of :- A colour combination A card layout A stampset  A project in the catalogue .or  ..... The possibilities are endless. So what did I use? ....the cute card on the bottom of page 33 Now I did have plans of using a new detailed thinlit but sadly it didn't arrive today so I did a quick rethink,  and I still managed to use a few new products. This technique is an inlaid diecut technique so I first cut the word from Pink...

Sprinkles of Life Gift Set

The Sprinkles of Life set is so cute, and you can make cards simply and quickly or you can spend ages playing around with the little bits and pieces. The Tree Builder Punch is amazingly versatile and I'm sure there will be a thousand possibilities with all the shapes. These samples are a bit of both! and they are based on what we made in the class on the weekend. The 2 1/2" Circle Punch never leaves my desktop as I use it so often, it was perfect for this card. This makes a cute gift set. I try hard not to hang on to leftover bits and pieces - the hoarder in me has to be tamed! So using up the scrap strips from the Irresistibly Yours DSP inside ticked that box, and as you know I like little circles as they use up leftover paper too, repeating the circle images on the inside ties the card together.  You can check out another recent design using scraps of circles here . (Hint-  in the inside strip they don't need to be ...

A few wedding cards- it's that time of year!

I make quite a lot of wedding cards but they don't always get written about, so I thought I would showcase a little collection of different styles and samples, some using lots of Stampin' Up! Producers, some a little less. Made using a Sheltering Tr ee, and the mini flower punch. Irresistibly Yours DS P paper and Expressions Naturals Elements Ellen Hutson flower dies,  Expressions Naturals Elements , text Rmbossing Folder Made using the Striped Scallops Thinlits Die and layering 2 sheets on top of each other. Using Hello Doily, and a card and box made from Kraft cardstock. I used the Envelope Punchn Board and the great Box Wizard from A Crafty Owl to get the perfect dimension so that the box was deep enough to not squash the little cluster of flowers (and bits and bobs). It's a shame they don't still make the Mr & Mrs stamp I do love the Lattice Die , Well there are quite a few more ...

Wedding card for tgifc#08

Love a wedding card, and needed some for a friend, so I made a few! I also think there is something special about a square card, these are 12cm square which is not too large to post. Mint Macaron on the Irresistibly yours Paper with the fabulous Natural Expressions Elements and a simple lace trim - matching envelope made with the new envelope paper.  Sahara sand partially embossed with shimmery white floral framelits, love these teamed with the wooden expressions. super simple to put together. Island Indigo sponged over shimmery white framelits. No sentiment at all but I don't think it needs one. Could be wedding, could be anything, but a girl can never have too many flowers!  Thanks for looking, Liz Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

#creativerelief, Thanks to all the generous folk who supported this.

Saturday June 13 saw 26 participants making cards and having a great afternoon raising funds for the Western Qld Drought Appeal. Many of the ladies had never tried card making but everyone had a lovely afternoon and went home with 4 cards they had made themselves. These were the cards I designed. Each table had a Stampin Up demonstrator from my little team guiding and assisting, and participants moved from table to table working at their own pace. My beautiful Mum and her cousin came up on the train from Nambour to Rockhampton to help and they ran the Crafternoon Tea buffet superbly. Mutidraw prizes Some of the donated cards which sold like hotcakes! Another Mother and Daughter team of Happy Stampers Silent Auction from the SU Donation Box Thanks to TCC who donated the use of the hall My beautiful Mum and me. Stamping Up donated a box of goodies which I was able to make into loads of prize packs, and lots of people donated other raffle goods fo...

CTC#16 using NEW DSP - Irresistibly Yours

The new Catalogue has such lovely products, and I am totally loving the Irresisitbly Yours DSP. - one of the Sale-A-Bration  products free with Purchases over $90. So I have chosen to use it for this weeks CASEing the Catty challenge #16. Bronwyn has such a beautiful card and I only just learned that you can stamp on the DSP before sponging or misting and it gives another layer to the paper. I saw this first by Carolyn Lindenmeyer whose blog is Carolyn's Card Creations . There is a video link which demonstrates this , and I too must thank  Linda Heller  (When the rubber Hits the Road)  for this idea I saw on her blog. Well of course I couldn't make only one card, but I am entering this first one into the Challenge. I cut the DSP to 12x24 cm since I am quite fond of square cards. I stamped the Dictionary Stamp as the background, then when I wiped off the Soft Suede Ink it filled in the background colour. To brighten it I then sponged Wisteria Wonder around ...
