Grow with Love Sliding Lock Mechanism Masculine Version

This is the second version of one of the cards we made at Card Class recently. It's a Sliding Lock Mechanism card - although it doesn't really lock, it just keeps it nicely closed and neat. Yesterday's post shows the pink version but this one is great as a masculine option. You can find the dimensions and more samples there. If you would like to download the pdf to print your own set of instructions you can find that here When the lock mechanism is in place you can't see the sentiment inside.  The Grow with Love Bundle. I love it. You can find it here in my Online Store  but it's only available until sold out. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Torn Paper technique for a tropical card

My last post was for Bronwyn's 60th Birthday using tropical colours. I had these colours on my desk and used them for a few other cards.  I was inspired by Cindy Schuster in a tutorial she shared recently ( The Crafty Carrot Collective Aug 22) using the torn paper technique. It's perfect for many occasions and these are great for men and women.  It's easy and fun- and you get 2 cards from the one activity- bonus. select 5 or 6 colours and cut cardstock to                       4" x 2 1/2" prepare two base pieces of plain thin Cardstock         4" x 3 1/4" Tear the strips in half gently "lifting" the card to create the rough torn edge. Adhere the layers using strong adhesive like stampin' seal, layering each piece in around 1/2" increments. Use the largest circle die to cut your shape. You may need to run it through twice and finish the cut with paper snips as it will be tricky to cut thro...

Time for a Card Again - fabulous puns with the Forever Friendship stampset, a few samples

I'm a big fan of puns - I come from a family that uses them all the time , so naturally I had to have this set to send to some of them. I was also inspired by Jennifer Frost at the #Crafty Carrot Collective for their August month of masculine cards. Jen's sneak peak used this layout and the watercolour wash behind layered strips and sentiment. I have used some of the DSP and a few elements from the He's All That DSP. This Paper pack has  2 sheets of elements which you simply press out from the card to stick on your projects. The arrow, banner and stars are from these specialty sheets, so easy to use. I stamped the cardigan in Garden Green and then gave it a light wash with water and my aquapainter but then once it was dry I re-stamped the cardigan in green again to give it more definition. The buttons are just coloured in with the Espresso marker. while I had the set out I played with a few of the other images. The Typewriter is just so cute, and easy to use.  I have paired...

Babywipe technique and Forever Fern

As I said- once you have a Babywipe palette you can stamp a large number of images. These are few more of the thankyou cards in this series. No Wattle in this group of cards, just greenery. You can see the wattle cards using this set and this technique published yesterday. A little touch of colour and interest on the inside as well - and of course NEVER a naked envelope. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Forever Fern Bundle (English) [ 154094 ] $94.50 Forever Fern Cling Stamp Set (English) [ 152559 ] $42.00 Flowers Of Friendship Cling Stamp Set [ 155358 ] $37.00 Jar Punch [ 152703 ] $31.00 Shimmery White A4 Card Stock [ 121717 ] $17.50 Sahara Sand A4 Card Stock [ 121695 ] $15.25 Bumblebee A4 Cardstock [ 153082 ] $15.25 Bumblebee Classic Stampin' Pad [ 153116 ] $13.00...

CI#109

Welcome to the colour INKspiration challenge #109 using Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso...... a challenge indeed.  I have created a masculine card for my Dad for his birthday. It's a fancy fold gift card holder inspired by my friend Sharon Dalton and I'm quite happy with the way it came together. Although this stampset is no longer available due to production issues with some of the images, I felt this bird was the right size, shape, and degree of detail that watercolouring him might work- directly inspired by the Inspo Pic. Also, my Dad is a nature lover, and he will happily sit in the bush by a waterhole marvelling at the birdlife, so this seemed appropriate. I took a lot of inspiration directly from the Inspo pic for this one picture credit https://twitter.com/bronwyn1140/status/654310621681426432 I used the shimmery white cardstock as it holds water quite well, and I stamped the image in Early Espresso. While the ink was still damp I quickly s...

Father's Day meets the Mason Jar punch -The Masterchef version and a few Dad Jokes.

Yesterday I posted the mason jar woodworker's version, today is the BBQ chef version. I've used the fabulous Mason Jar Punch and coordinating Shaker Domes, and paired it with the Gilded Autumn specialty Designer Series Paper. Some (retired) copper washi tape to look like the screw top lid and a colourful mix of spices. I think all Dads think themselves pretty handy in the chef department, so these should be broadly appropriate. I filled the jars with Star Anise, Cardamom Pods, Coriander seeds and Chilli flakes. The handy kebab image is from the recently retired Outdoor BBQ set. After I photographed this card I added the sentiment from Strong and Beautiful which says "You're amazing and that's a fact" I made a few versions of this style using some retired paper ( making room for new things to come....) and another great retired set for Chefs -  Perfect Mix. Our family are partial to word puns and word play jokes so these make me smile- plus they feel like Dad j...
