Welcome to the First 2015 blog for Colour INKspiration, I hope your Christmas and New Year have been amazing.  We start the year with a bright fresh colour palette.And I started the year needing a thankyou card or 2 - so I pulled out my minitreat thinlits set and made one using new paper and stamps, and one using older paper and stamps. Here they are both side by side.   I'm still not totally sold on Lemon Lime Twist as a colour although it is used very widely. Perhaps it just doesn't photograph very well. I prefer the cardstock once it is sponged with the same ink to give that deeper more intense colour. So that is what I have done to the leaf spray ( the second spray is cut from DSP)  Both the DSP and the ribbon and sequins used in this project are new in the Tutti-frutti Suite. Welcome back for another week of inspiration from the Catalogue. I had a bunch of thankyou cards to make so thanks to CTC I sat down and quickly put these together. I had a few bits and pieces ready cut (the white card and black mats) so I used those as my starting point, and because I seem to have an abundance of Flirty Flamingo cardstock I opted to use that as my card base. I used the Background Bits Hostess - set which is a fabulous addition to your stamping supplies - and I did an almost direct CASE from the sample with that set on page 220 of the Annual Catalogue. But when I looked closely at all the hostess sets I quite liked the feature of same coloured background stamping so I added that in too! Hers'e the sample on page 220   I was in a bit (a lot) of a hurry as the list of jobs to do doesn't really fit into the allocated daylight hours so I was really happy to find that the new Pretty Label punch is big enough to punch out the Thankyou ...

Welcome back to another week of colourful inspiration. This week Bronwyn has selected another gorgeous inspiration pic, and this time it has green in it!! I have found some of the challenges...well....challenging because there hasn't been any green in many of them. It has been a revelation to me as to how often I reach for it. Do you have a go-to colour?? I am still struggling to use Lemon-Lime Twist but it worked beautifully in a watercolour wash together with Wild Wasabi on some shimmer paper. I then dropped clean water from my aquapainter and let it spread the colour around which gave me a few patches of quite pale colour.  On a second panel I did some more mixed green watercolouring and then stamped some text over the colour while it was still damp using the border stamps from  Background Bits.
