A little bit of Bling - with Something Old and Something New - for GDP083

It's such an exciting time of the Stampin' Up! year with lots of new things coming in the New catalogue. One of the great perks of attending Onstage is the opportunity to buy new products before they are released. There are loads of gorgeous new things coming, and I have featured 2 of those on my card today. Something Old: a very old Wedding stamp (the Mr and Mrs is retired but still gorgeous) and I use it a lot for cards at the markets. Something New: There are a number of new ribbons coming and they are all stunning. This card uses the new Mini  Chevron ribbon in Old Olive - it is beautiful and soft and also comes in Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry. The other stunning and very sparkly new product is the Glitter Enamel Dots . These come in graduated sizes AND graduated colours. Each pack contains 40 glitter dots in each of 4 colours- Old Olive, BerryBurst, Crushed Curry and Dapper Denim from a deep shade of the colour up to a very pale shade. You are going to love them!...

A few wedding cards- it's that time of year!

I make quite a lot of wedding cards but they don't always get written about, so I thought I would showcase a little collection of different styles and samples, some using lots of Stampin' Up! Producers, some a little less. Made using a Sheltering Tr ee, and the mini flower punch. Irresistibly Yours DS P paper and Expressions Naturals Elements Ellen Hutson flower dies,  Expressions Naturals Elements , text Rmbossing Folder Made using the Striped Scallops Thinlits Die and layering 2 sheets on top of each other. Using Hello Doily, and a card and box made from Kraft cardstock. I used the Envelope Punchn Board and the great Box Wizard from A Crafty Owl to get the perfect dimension so that the box was deep enough to not squash the little cluster of flowers (and bits and bobs). It's a shame they don't still make the Mr & Mrs stamp I do love the Lattice Die , Well there are quite a few more ...

JAI#213

Love this inspiration picture. Here's my take on it. I don't use chevrons too often so that was a challenge for me - the circle thinlits flip card has a chevron shape in it so I used that on the Pink Pirouette cardstock and layered the gold glimmer paper behind it. The pink still seemed too strong so I layered some vellum over the top to tone it down a bit. The little flowers I made using the scallop flower shape from the Boho Blossoms Punch cut into a spiral . ( I tried the spiral flower die with tissue but it was a disaster this time..., and the cardstock spiral seemed too big, maybe next time…) The pale blue sequins are leftover from an old dancing costume adventure and they seemed the perfect colour. The Mr & Mrs is heat embossed with gold onto White Shimmer Paper, and of  course seam binding ribbon, buttons and Linen thread. thanks for looking, Liz

Just Add Ink #203

This week It's Just add a sketch at Just Add Ink This is my take on the Sketch. I have used Basic Grey and some very old DSP which I still love . In line with my efforts to stop hoarding stuff I am trying to use up some of my treasures! The sentiment is embossed with the Pewter Embossing Powder and layered on the Silver Glimmer Paper. For the banner I used some Delicate Details lace tape and the flowers are punched with another very old product. I always like to add a little detail inside, usually a strip of the coordinating Paper from the card front. The sentiment inside says Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, from the One in a Million set. The flowers are given shape by using a soft mat underneath- I use an old Mouse mat cut down to size. With the round tip of a stylus you put pressure in the centre and then rub in gentle tiny circular motion to give the flower shape. I have layered 2 together and filled the centre with a dot of Dazzling Details glitter and a...

Hello Doily Mother's Day and a wedding card

I have recently purchased the  Hello Doily  stamp after seeing it used by a customer for her wedding invitations. It was stunning. So I have been playing with embossing the image with the Pewter Embossing  Powder. It's beautiful . This card uses Regal Rose card stock as the base, embossed with the Lacy Brocade embossing folder in the big shot. The doily is heat embossed on Crumb Cake card stock. I didnt have any seam binding left so died some white taffeta ribbon with crumb cake ink and loosely gathered it onto a piece of sticky strip.  Hemp thread, a crystal button and some of the soft Flower Trim roses which have been sponged with Regal Rose were added. Lastly I stamped a butterfly from  Kindness Matters  and 2 leaves from  French Foliage  in Certainly Celery, which I hand cut out and mounted with dimensionals. Happy mothers day is   is stamped from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set. I will miss the Regal Rose colour when it retires...
