HELLO  and welcome back for another round of Colour INKspiration, where this week we have a bright sunny yellow palette. I had lots of ideas on what to create with this set but had trouble getting most of them to come together.   In the end I created a floral card with some triangle elements and several layers. I love the Falling Flowers suite for heat embossing and colouring. All the floral elements are heat embossed with white on white then coloured using the markers or a blender pen and markers. I have cut the centre from one of the flowers and raised it up. The accent around the triangle flap is actually silver foil and then Smoky Slate DSP which doesn't show up very well in this photo. I love the dark tone of the DSP (from the retired Urban Underground DSP) which sits on a separate hinged flap under the first layer.  Hopefully the photos will give you a clearer idea. The front - still doesn't show the silver between the white and the Smoky ...

Just a quick post today since I have had the card made for a few days but slow in getting it posted! - As usual I make things for GDP then miss out on linking them to the challenge!! So today I'm doing it! I have these colours on my desk because I am also using them for my CASEing the Catty Post for this evening which uses  Favourite Retiring Products.  Check back and see those cards tonight. these are the colours I used. Cucumber Crush Tip Top Taupe Watermelon Wonder Mint macaron is actually my fave- but the Cucumber brightness just went so well with the white embossed images. Welcome back this week where we are CASEing the Catty to make a project for Mother's Day. I still find beautiful inspiration in the catalogue every time I look through it and wonder why I haven't noticed certain projects in the past. This was the case with this week's card - although I have CASE'd the gift bag on page 47 of the Annual Catalogue - which is nearly at the end of it's time.    I loved the copper embossing on the brown paper bag, the lace, and the watercolored image on the tag. So using those features and the Falling Flowers Stamp set I created a card suitable for Mother's Day. I heat embossed the images with white embossing powder on Shimmer White Cardstock and then coloured each flower of leaf with my aqua painter. I was short on time so didn't attempt masking but rather cut each flower with the coordinating framelits and layered them on the tag. While this card is made with not all Stampin' Up! products it is a blend of old and new, nothing borrowed but something blue. Next weekend is the Handmade Expo Markets here in Rockhampton and I always like to have a stash of wedding cards. This is one which I think fits the bill for both these challenges. The GDP challenge #040 is to CASE  the Designer and using Shawn de Oliveira's card I have reversed the layout to have the long strip and ribbon accent on the left. I am really glad I purchased the new Falling Flowers and May Flowers bundle. The stamped images are crisp and clear and the framelits are magic. I have heat embossed in white both the leaves and berries onto Naturals White cardstock (wish they'd bring this back), and also one onto some pale DSP which I had left over. Then I coloured the berries with my blender pen using Mint Macaron. The die cut leaves are from the same set of framelits and I used some shimmer white paper which I had watercoloured fo...

Well my new products arrived and this is what I had in mind for last weeks CASEing the Catty entry. I ended up using the "YOU" framelit which you can see here , for last week, but this brilliant flower die is so much more satisfying! The other framelits in this set are gorgeous too- leaves and berries and lots of flowers.  I have another card in the same colours using some of the other elements at the Just Add Ink challenge here I love the Mint Macaron with the Sweet Sugarplum and Sahara Sand (colours inspired by the Blooms and Bliss DSP ). That cute border and the sentiment is from the Tin of Cards Stamp set - so versatile. Other fabulous products - the new Mint Macaron Sheer Linen ribbon, Blushing Bride sequins and Metal Rimmed Pearls. Who doesn't love a shaker!
