GDP#018 Going Global

I have been preparing cars for my catalogue launch party this weekend . The Going Global suite is so easy to use I love all the papers and the stamps. they are especially good for masculone cards, andI also have quite a few very special birthday cards to make in January so it's a good excuse to play with my new toys. By chance my last GDP entry was using these papers too. This week it's a sketch challenge which I really like.   I love the rustic look and was really pleased to find that the Timeless Textures set has great stamps for adding -well- texture!!! I used one of the stamps all around the edge and then only needed to sponge lightly to smooth it out.  Brilliant! I'm sure I will use this set a lot too. and this card was for my husband for his birthday so the inside was a bit special too. Thanks for looking,  Liz Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

CTC #58 Christmas Trees for everyone!

Welcome to the Bloghop for CTC this week where we look at Christmas trees!. You may have come from Stasia's blog or you may be starting here. Either way you are welcome. Be sure to cruise all the way around the hop to see everyone's projects. If you get lost you can find the full list of participants at the CASEing the Catty webpage.  Well it's time to put the tree UP! In the past it's been hard to balance Christmas and birthday in our house because my daughter's birthday is the 11th so we used to wait until after her birthday and not make much fuss about Christmas in the early part of December. However,  now that it's just the two of us left at home we can put it up earlier which is lovely. This weekend is the one! Our 3 children have all left home, and the problem with living in a regional area is that they are all minimum 7 hours drive away. We will have to travel to them to spend time with them all over Christmas. They are all busy and I know they w...

Vintage leaves and JAI #289

The Challenge this week is to Just Add Music at Just Add Ink, so this is my entry for the Challenge. I only recently bought the Vintage Leaves stampset and I love it. I already had the framelits which I purchased with the Lighthearted Leaves set - also gorgeous - and I have made quite a selection of cards with that set which you can see on another post ( here ). This is a set of thankyou cards which i made for a friend and they are all watercolour wash backgrounds using Cherry Cobbler, Rich Rzzleberry, Old Olive, Night of Navy and Wild Wasabi. She loved them! The leaf is embossed with clear embossing powder on Night On Navy. I always stamp the inside of the card and the envelope to match with a collage of images. These are from Vintage Leaves, Painted Petals and French Foliage. For this one I inked up the embossing folder. This one has versamark and clear embossing powder lightly applied to the raised embossed ridges. Thanks for lo...

More Watercolour cards - Paper Players#241 and JAI#259

After the class on the weekend I have a beautiful stash of watercolour pieces and now I am busy making them into Mother's Day cards.  The challenge at the Paper Playes this week is a clean and simple Watercolour which is always a challenge for me to keep things 'clean' - I do love an embellishment.  This card uses some gorgeous little paper flowers which were part of a treasure trove I found in Vietnam last year. Paper Players #241 For the watercolouring I used Blackberry Bliss, Blushing Bride and a touch of Crushed Curry. But for the ink and the cardstock ring I used the long retired Peach Parfait which worked a treat. Of course the inside needed a little dressing up. (Trying hard to use up old bits and pieces) - like the glimmer brad in Rich Razzleberry. I have a few other samples too. This one I am entering in JAI# 259 Just add sequins. JAI#259 This one uses Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride, as well as the Peach Parfait. ...
