Welcome back to the CTC blog for this week. I am still away travelling so this is brief this week but I wanted to play along.  You may have arrived from Rachel's blog and if you continue around the group you will see some amazing inspiration. There is so much inspiration in the SAB catalogue but I was inspired by the gorgeous card alongside the What I Love set so have CASEd that. If you follow my blog (Just fill in your email details at the bar on the right side to get regular emails whenever I post something new) you will know that I do love a square card, and also that I am a big fan of Crumb Cake. For this card I used Tempting Turquoise stamped off for the 2 base images, and Pacific Point for the detail stamp, and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. Super Simple. It's the CTC blogshop for the Artistic Expression section of the catalogue. There's such a lot of gorgeous cards to see in this section. Hello ago and welcome from Kathryn's beautiful post. I am a little bit excited with how this week's card turned out. After my card class on the weekend where we played with the Babywipe Technique, I used the flower image from Crazy About You and stamped repetitively to cover a panel. I love how it looks and I will be using this technique again especially when I don't have any DSP in the colour I need. I think it looks a bit like fireworks.  I used the card on the top left of page 117 of the catalogue for this inspiration. I loved the colour and the card layout. The black scroll from Everything Eleanor was heat embossed onto the panel and the flower was heat embossed onto some typeset DSP before being cut out - love the goose treated this way in the catalogue sample card. Hello again, we have all been busy poring over the new catalogue and this weeks challenge was to make something inspired by any item which jumped out at you from the catalogue. Well that sounds easy..... Welcome, you will have come form Kathryn's beautiful blog and I hope you get inspired as you travel around the blog hop. There were quite a few things that inspired me but I am going to go with a beautiful card which has all the hallmarks of my favourite style - layering! I am pretty sure the Awesomely Artistic will be one of the first stamp sets I purchase  as it has so many lovely elements. Well it's a very busy week here with convention happening and my travel plans away but I have managed to create a card using the great sketch from JAI. After making lots of Mother's Day cards I had bits and pieces lying around and put some of them together. Sometimes a sketch just creates it's own card and this came together in minutes! I pulled out an old favourite - Everything Eleanor ( so glad this so not retiring). It's such a cute little bird but I don't use it often enough. Lost Lagoon and silver foil cardstock,  and specialty silver vellum all seemd to go together easily. The antique brads are staying on the new catalogue too which is good news. Some days it takes for ever to get things together.... I have been planning to make one of these cards for ages but despite it looking relatively simple thanks to Natasha Schwecke's fabulous instructions it just didn't come together easily for me today. So after 4 attempts this is where I stopped! (still not 100% happy with it…) I used the Circle Framelits and the Petite Petals stamp set and Punch , and the beautiful Ex Libris stamp for the background. The Brown Sugar base is textured using a sharp blade run along the edges, and I have used the Everything Eleanor swirl on top which is heat embossed with White Powder. Everything had glitter applied to it today - some days you need to add sparkle, so the butterfly was the obvious choice! The Papillon Potpourri  butterfly was coloured using the Blender Pen and Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana inks. Well have finally managed to get some items photographed. I took my inspiration for the colour scheme from the beautiful Watercolour Wonder DSP. I love Island Indigo, Gumball Green and the Smoky slate together. The card is a Z-fold card and I have embossed the Easter Blessings using the Pewter Embossing Powder. The Gumball Green frame is some leftover Christmas Cordinations CS so I was able to sand it after embossing for some more texture. Everything Eleanor provided the swirls and flowers and there is a touch of DSP in there for some more depth. The easter egg box is one we'll be making at this weekend's class and is a piece of Whisper White CS cut to 8.5" x the A4 width, scored at 2,4,6,8" and 2' along the long edge. The circle window is punched using a 11/4" punch and the hole is covered by a small piece of acetate. The cardstock is randomly stamped using Everything Eleanor flowers and the smoky slate swirl before folding, and the closure is a piece...

I have always loved tiled patterns and these 2 Z fold cards make the most of the gorgeous Print Poetry Designer Series Stack (#129312 on page 16 of the Summer Mini). The inspiration for these cards came a card I saw on Pinterest  (terrible time waster!, but oh so good). Barbara at  barbarascraftcircle.blogspot.com  has a tiled card in the Midnight Muse. Mine are similar but I have done a 4x4 version and stepped them up a bit with some added details. Any small punch would work just as well and I would love to try one with a heart punch and also one with circles. Everything Eleanor has such beautiful elements. I love the swirl and all the flowers. This card uses  Crumb Cake and Regal Rose and the gorgeous seam binding ribbon. The butterfly is stamped onVellum cardstock with a floral image just to give some pattern then punched out with the Butterfly Punch.  I use this technique often to get a butterfly that matches the colours exactly.  This Card Class Version was a one layer (almost) stamped version using  Crumb Cake for the shield shape which was then masked, Old Olive for the swirls and sentiment, and Raspberry Ripple provided a great depth of coverage over the crumb cake shield.  One flower was stamped separately and cut out and raised  up and the butterfly was punched from vellum that had been stamped with the raspberry ripple flowers randomly.  This Thankyou set uses both Everything Eleanor and Kindness Matters, 2 of my favourite sets.
