Mother's Day Card Class water colouring

Yesterday was the watercolour "Smooshing" technique at my Mother's Day class and the results were so lovely i just wanted to share some of the finished cards. The pink and soft sky was a happy accident- I love it. I just love how everyone's was different. The real trick to the lovely watercolour look is using the   shimmer white paper. Thanks for looking, Liz Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

CTC#16 using NEW DSP - Irresistibly Yours

The new Catalogue has such lovely products, and I am totally loving the Irresisitbly Yours DSP. - one of the Sale-A-Bration  products free with Purchases over $90. So I have chosen to use it for this weeks CASEing the Catty challenge #16. Bronwyn has such a beautiful card and I only just learned that you can stamp on the DSP before sponging or misting and it gives another layer to the paper. I saw this first by Carolyn Lindenmeyer whose blog is Carolyn's Card Creations . There is a video link which demonstrates this , and I too must thank  Linda Heller  (When the rubber Hits the Road)  for this idea I saw on her blog. Well of course I couldn't make only one card, but I am entering this first one into the Challenge. I cut the DSP to 12x24 cm since I am quite fond of square cards. I stamped the Dictionary Stamp as the background, then when I wiped off the Soft Suede Ink it filled in the background colour. To brighten it I then sponged Wisteria Wonder around ...

JAI#248 and SSSC254, More Butterlfy Thinlits Birthday cards

I Love the colour combination at JAI this week but of course I couldn't only make one card! The Butterfly Thinlits are easy to use and I have been playing with lots of samples for my upcoming class this weekend. The Leaves were heat embossed with clear embossing powder and I cut out one extra leaf stem to go in the bouquet of flowers. The flowers are Naturals White water coloured with Rich Razzleberry ink with a  pearl centre, and the Sahara Sand flowers are sponged with Pool Party ink. The Sahara Sand Seam Binding make a lovely soft bow and the Crystal Buttons are always gorgeous. I have used Kinda Eclectic, Bitty Banners and French Foliage stamp sets, though the inside Sentiment is from a very old Stampin' Up set which I bought on ebay many years ago - before I was truly a SU convert - and I have no idea of the name or age of that set. (If you know I would love to learn it - the set included a group of children chasing butterflies with a net)  The messa...

Easter Eggs in a Birdhouse Box ( Catalogue CASE)

I'm so thrilled with how these little guys turned out!!! As you may have noticed from recent posts I am on a bit of a roll with 2-4-6-8 boxes. They are so easy and quick to make - mostly!! This one is a little more detailed but very worth the trouble. One of the ladies at my Easter class wanted to order the set on page 87 of the catalogue and when we looked at it I was inspired by the cute little birdhouse at the bottom of the page. This is a CASE of that picture, with a few of my own touches. For the timber of the house I used the fabulous new Hardwood (130322)  large stamp and used Early Espresso on crumb cake The base cardstock is 21 cm x 14.7. - I love it when I can get 2 projects neatly from one sheet of A4., scored in the usual way   The roof is Early Espresso C'oredinations embossed using the new Arrows EF (132187) and sanded-  (looks like roof tiles don't you think?) 2" strip x 51/2 ". For my other boxes I used the scalloped tag topper punch for t...

Primrose and Midnight Print Poetry Z fold Cards with Ciao Baby

I have always loved tiled patterns and these 2 Z fold cards make the most of the gorgeous Print Poetry Designer Series Stack (#129312 on page 16 of the Summer Mini). The inspiration for these cards came a card I saw on Pinterest  (terrible time waster!, but oh so good). Barbara at  barbarascraftcircle.blogspot.com  has a tiled card in the Midnight Muse. Mine are similar but I have done a 4x4 version and stepped them up a bit with some added details. Any small punch would work just as well and I would love to try one with a heart punch and also one with circles. Card Recipes: Midnight Muse: Crumb Cake Cardstock        14cm x 21 cm scored at 5.25cm and 10.5cm Strip of M.Muse cardstock   14cm x 5 cm embossed with Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder  Naturals Ivory Cardstock     9.5 cm square x 2 Midnight Muse Cardstock    9    cm  square Crumb Cake Cardstock        8.5...

Bird Punch Gull on the Jetty

Well I am in awe of  Michelle Zindorf and her amazing brayer work and use of different Stampin' Up! tools. I found her thanks to Splitcoast Stampers. This is a CASE from Sue at splitcoaststampers.com , who has CASEd Michelle Zindorf's  great website  http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2011/06/08/on-the-dock-tutorial-428/ It is amazing to me how many talented people are so willing to share their work for inspiration. Thanks to them... My version is made using the following: The jetty posts are made using the great Early Espresso C'oredinations cardstock which distresses so easily. It is torn, crushed and folded and tied with string. The gull is made using the fabulous Bird Punch which is then trimmed a little to be a less plump bird and sponged with Crumb Cake ink, as is the wing. The beak is coloured with River Rock, and the legs hand drawn. I don't have a brayer so the sea is done by swiping the inkpad over the card, and the sky is sponged on. I us...
