Colourful Seasons stamps meet Jar of Love - Sneak Peak

Mother's Day is coming and that always means "Pretty Cards"- which is great for me because I'ma floral girl through and through - " A girl can never have too many flowers!" I have been working hard to create a stash for the Handmade Expo Markets which are on this weekend here in Rockhampton. This is one of my favourite designs to make and I have quite a few done. But EVERY one of my cards is UNIQUE - I rarely make two exactly the same. I'm having fun creating with a lovely mix of old and new.  You have to hand it to Stampin' Up!  This time more than ever I think they have produced a whole range of new products that work seamlessly with a lot of existing products. All crafters love new things but most have trouble parting with old favourites so it is really nice to be able to combine things. I love the new Berry Burst - it's a gorgeous , vibrant,  strong and happy colour. Today I have also used the lace stamp from Grateful Bun...

CTC123 Easter

What a busy weekend- I can't believe Easter is almost here, and with so much to do before then I wanted something not too complicated to make for Easter this year. I'm quite excited because 2 of our children are coming home for the short break. It will be lovely to have them around for a few days. I always try to get lots of baking done- and of course there are traditional recipes to whip up. So I need some cards to go with their gifts. This is a style of card that I have always admired but seldom made so I was pleased to finally get these created.  SOOO easy! Why haven't I done this before? Their little envelopes will contain a small gift to go along with the eggs! I liked the layout of the card on the top left of page 27 of the occasions catalogue- just the simple strip of DSP on the lower half of the card, and a colour banner behind the label with the sentiment on it, so that inspired the outside of the bag. The pull out card is similarly simple. I cut the w...

FMS 281 with a Golden Dragonfly

I'v had a lovely day today catching up on some crafting - well a lot of crafting really!! I haven't had much time to play along with some of my favourtite Sketch Challenges but I love the simplicity of this one so it was easy to whip up a card or two- especially since I had most of the elements already cut. The lattice strip in the flourish thinlits is one of my favourite elements and I use it very often. It is so elegant and simple yet very detailed. White and Crumb Cake are the perfect match. I thought the gold dragonfly needed to be grounded to the card base so I heat embossed the little dots from Awesomely Artistic with the gold powder.   And the only Pool Party DSP I could find for the envelope liner is from a very old Sale-A Bration set- I'm so glad to have found a good use for it - don't you love using up lost pieces! Thanks for looking, and remember, "don't just post online, post something pretty", Liz ...

Easel Card for Valentine's

Just a quick post of a standing Easel card. These are great because they fold flat for posting but stand up for display. I sell a lot of these at the Markets, but I could design a class for you around this type of card if you like. No red hearts here - just a simple little wooden accent heart and some gorgeous paper. Here is the card folded for posting  and here it is standing up. thanks for looking,  To cut only the half circle you use the "partial die cutting technique". There are lots of video tutorials on how to to do this, but essentially you place the top acrylic plate only where you want the framelit to actually cut and leave the remainder of the shape uncovered by the plate. This means there will be no pressure from the rollers going over the uncovered cutting surface. If you would like to see a video with the instructions for how to make this card you can click on t his link. I have CASE'd Debbie Henderson. and remember  "don't...
