 Welcome to the colour INKspiration challenge #109 using Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso...... a challenge indeed.  I have created a masculine card for my Dad for his birthday. It's a fancy fold gift card holder inspired by my friend Sharon Dalton and I'm quite happy with the way it came together. Although this stampset is no longer available due to production issues with some of the images, I felt this bird was the right size, shape, and degree of detail that watercolouring him might work- directly inspired by the Inspo Pic. Also, my Dad is a nature lover, and he will happily sit in the bush by a waterhole marvelling at the birdlife, so this seemed appropriate. Christmas is a great time to give Gift Cards - and a hand made fancy card is the best way to dress up this gift. the Front This is an easy design which I modified to metric measurements for our Australian market.  ( the Paper Pixie has US measurements for this design) The inside This is a picture heavy post to give you the instructions. You only need one strip of DSP but I have given the measurements in both metric and imperial as it is a good design to use your 6x6 DSP. 1. Score your cardstock at 6.5 and 14 cm, this gives a 6.5cm panel, which will fold to the inside and hold the gift card, a 7.5 cm panel which will be the card front, and a regular panel 10.5 x 14.5 for the inside panel where you will write your message. 2. cut your DSP strips as per the table above,  and cut your cardstock pieces 10 x 14 for the writing panel inside, and 9 x 9 for the card front. 3. adhere the 2.5cm strip to the sentiment panel and adhere to the inside of the card. .  4. on the card fron...

Christmas is the perfect time to give gift cards and Card making is the perfect way to dress them up. I have made the envelope cards before (you can find more details and instructions here ) and this one is adapted from a previous card for an order for a lady who didn't want anything too fussy as it was for her boss.  The card is in the envelope and the gift card is in a mini envelope inside which is held in the hinge so it folds over to write on the card. Who says Halloween paper has to be for Halloween cards? I recently purchased the Happy Hauntings set because I was intrigued by the orange stripe pattern shown in the catalogue behind one of the cards. I am not normally partial to orange but I am challenging myself. A few of the pages are specifically "Haunting"  types but most are just dots, stars, stripes and geometric patterns. Easy to use. We will be making two of these little Envelope Notecards in my class this weekend (and next Thursday). I still have a few spots if you would like to join in. Just get in touch with me.
