CTC#213 Floral Romance

Well hello again, and Happy Australia Day to you!
We are so fortunate to live in this beautiful land - even if it has been very sunbaked the last few weeks, I hope you are not sweltering too much. I've used nice cool colours this week
I decided to add a little touch of Australia this week using some DSP which reminds me of gum leaves for a gift bag to match the card which I created for my sister for her birthday.

We are CASEing the Floral Romance section of the catalogue

and I was inspired by a card on page 13.
For those of you that follow me you won't be surprised that a watercolour image appealed to me!

I flipped the image on it's side, and rather than watercolour or use brusho I used some #simplestamping and created the look using the fabulous little waterdrops/bubbles image from the "Beauty Abounds" set also on page 13.
I stamped it randomly to create a pattern graduating from Bermuda Bay, then Mint Macaron, then Garden Green. I used shimmery white card and once finished I lightly spritzed it with a tiny mist of water.
I thought it needed just a little accent so the white glimmer hearts were perfect. The sentiment is from another new set which I won at Onstage (so glad for my golden ticket!!), and I used the layer of vellum as in the inspiration card under the sentiment panel
I repeated the same stamping as a border on the inside panel.

The cute little gift bag is one we'll be making in class soon, it's a design I've done often and is super sweet.
I had a trial piece of ombre sponging using the same colours (which was where I started) from the first version, so I cut the detailed heart from that piece and simply layered it on a double layer of vellum for a tag.
It uses just one piece of DSP 6 x 6 inches., and any sort of scrap for a flap. Or you can just tie it closed or seal with a bulldog clip, or fold the top over.

Adhere the long edge onto the flap and fold the base flaps in to form a box base.
You'll find some other samples in this post from June 14 2017 here.
Next on the hop this week is Tina who is in South Australia. I'm sure staying in the Air Con and crafting would have been a good idea in SA this week.
And don't forget we love to see your creations too. Take a photo of your project inspired by any of the projects or products in pages 10-13 and post it to our Facebook page.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,

Lovely lacy hearts for a friend and a few challenges

One of the nicest things is to receive a handmade card in the mail. This week I received a really special one, and it made my day, and reminded me to write some of those cards which I have been intending to send.
So created this one for a lovely friend of mine using lots of new goodies.

The lovely lacy heart has been cut twice and layered up on itself to create a bit more of a feature, and the ombre colouring effect is highlighted by matting it on the black, which wasn't what I thought I would use with the soft pinks but I like the impact, and it is strengthened - I think- by the base mat colour to match.

Of course I always add a little accent to the inside, the champagne foil and DSP are mirrored from the card front, and the lovely sentiments match perfectly from the Incredible Like You set.

I am entering this card in a few challenges, Just Add Ink#440, adding something new, Addicted to CAS, codeword friend and a challenge I've just discovered Stamp Ink Paper, using hearts. ombre and foil

Have you got a friend who would appreciate getting one of your cards? There's bound to be someone who would love to hear from you.....

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

CTC #212 SAB love those wooden elements

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty Sunday challenge. This week we are CASEing projects from the Sale a Bration brochure again and I am using the lovely wooden Butterfly Elements from page 8 and a card from page 9.This was a very quick card to put together.

It was very easy to colour the wooden flowers and leaves- I just used my Stampin Blends alcohol pens while they were still in the original sheet and then gently pushed them out. Each pack contains one of the small sheets of flowers and 2 each of the larger sheets.
As you can see I copied the card exactly. There are so many lovely projects in the brochure it's a great place to start creating - especially when time is so limited for crafting. What project inspires you?

You can choose a pack of these gorgeous wooden elements as your free gift for a purchase of $90 during Sale a Bration, which runs until the end of March. You can see more of the products available by clicking here. I'd be happy to send you your own copy.
Here's the products I used
