Colour INKspiration #110 using Stitched Leaves watercolouring

So this is a fabulous photo this week but I have to admit the colours were certainly a challenge! But that's what it's all about right. I also challenged myself to use a stampset which I haven't used much and so I was able to combine both the Birds and Branches stampset and dies which have not been as loved as much as they deserve, and the fabulous Stitched Leaves dies which I can already see will be easy to use. Cajun Craze is not a colour I use often and it is very strong, but when you add water and tone it down it is a gorgeous colour. It blended really well with Pale Papaya using the smoosh technique on some of my favourite Shimmery White Cardstock. I also cut the leaves from Shimmery white and added straight ink to the dark green leaves, and painted the fine stems using my water painter. I love how the stitching in the leaves is so effective. And of course you can't leave the inside plain, so

CI#109

Welcome to the colour INKspiration challenge #109 using Crushed Curry, Pool Party, Cinnamon Cider and Early Espresso...... a challenge indeed.  I have created a masculine card for my Dad for his birthday. It's a fancy fold gift card holder inspired by my friend Sharon Dalton and I'm quite happy with the way it came together. Although this stampset is no longer available due to production issues with some of the images, I felt this bird was the right size, shape, and degree of detail that watercolouring him might work- directly inspired by the Inspo Pic. Also, my Dad is a nature lover, and he will happily sit in the bush by a waterhole marvelling at the birdlife, so this seemed appropriate. I took a lot of inspiration directly from the Inspo pic for this one picture credit https://twitter.com/bronwyn1140/status/654310621681426432 I used the shimmery white cardstock as it holds water quite well, and I stamped the image in Early Espresso. While the ink was still damp I quickly sp

Forever Blossoms to CASE Sharon Dalton for WCMD2021

Still sharing cards from World Card Making Day last weekend. Card #7 was presented by my friend Sharon Dalton from Studio Shabaz. We spent the day IN the studio at Sharon't place and had lots of fun following along with the projects for the day. Sharon CASEd the catalogue and had 3 cards- for the Beginner, Casual and Avid crafter, and used a beautiful bright colour combination. The Catalogue has so many fabulous projects to inspire us and I love to see how others interpret the designs and elements. I had to complete mine at home, and I was surprised to find that I don't really own very many line image stamps for colouring. I spent some relaxing time painting the images from Forever Blossoms . Forever Blossoms really is a beautiful and versatile set. The coordinating Cherry Blossoms dies  make it so easy And of course one must decorate the inside! Sharon's beautiful 3 cards used Hand Penned ....and Sharon was inspired by page 13 of the Annual Catalogue where they have used t

Sketch Challenge using Forever Blossoms for World Card Making Day 2021

It was World Card Making Day this time last week and I had a fabulous day making cards with a group of crafty friends from all over the place, both on line and in person organised by Vicki Wright. There were presentations by 6 designers and sketches to create along with on the day. It was so good to be creating with others.  This is one of the sketches which was put up on the day but which I only managed to complete later, I used the beautiful Forever Blossoms set which is one that I should use more often but never get past the good intentions. Thank goodness for the coordinating Cherry Blossoms Dies which cut out the images in a flash Such a versatile sketch. Current colours but retired papers, I'm sure we all have those. The blossoms are stamped onto gray granite and coloured with blends. You can't see the sparkle from the Wink of Stella - but it is there. So now it is World Card Sending Week! - not that we really need a reason to send cards since we all know how wonderful
