Social Stamping for ANZAC Day remembering their sacrifice

ANZAC Day a solemn day of pride and remembrance of gratitude for service and faith of hope for a brighter, united, peace driven future a day to pause and be together. This year, of course, is different. Ordinarily we are up in the wee hours and walk the 15 minute walk to the Botanical Gardens near our home. We assemble in silence with hundreds of others to pay our respects at the Cenotaph. Our local Dawn Service begins at 0427 (the time the boats landed at Gallipoli).  My husband and I have attended for most of the 16 years that we have lived in this house. We listen to the speaker remember the Anzac story. We pray, we reflect, and we listen to the anthem and the bagpipes. We feel the reverence and the solemnity. But not in 2020. This year our ceremony is different, but no less special. This year we are gathering with our neighbours in our driveways around the nation. This year we stand differently but we hold dear the same values and respect. This year we are a nation...

CTC#238- Casing the colour scheme- how different colours can change a look completely.

WELCOME back - it's so good to be here again. I've been away and super busy lately with a 3 day river festival market in Rockhampton last weekend,  with stock for the shop, with teaching classes and with family - none of whom live close by.  So it's lovely to be back and this week we are taking inspiration from the Garden Lane DSP colour palette- so many greens. .  I have a project which I have been working on to teach at Injune in central Qld next month so a few friends had a practice run today. Three ladies created the same basic design but you can see how individual differences are so wonderful, and how different background pieces change the whole look of the project. The central panel  of 6x6" is watercoloured using only Mossy Meadow, but everyone's turned out different. The magnolias are created from Whisper White with Daffodil Delight centres. The individual sticks also shaped how each person's finished up based on where the natural cur...

CTC#232 Casing the Brand new Catalogue

Welcome back to another week CASEing the Catty with a Brand new Catalogue. How fabulous! We are taking our inspiration from quite a large section of the Catalogue so there are bound to be some projects you'll love. I have been asked to make some Wedding Cards suitable for a wishing well so that the money is hidden inside the card- not sure why I've never made any of these before but it was a new design for me. Using a single sheet of A4 cardstock I scored it at 10cm and 20.5cm (landscape) and .5cm each side (portrait) I cut the narrow edges off except for the middle section which became flaps when folded in so I could adhere the pocket together. I've used the gorgeous new Magnolia's heat embossed in gold on Crumb Cake cardstock painted with White Craft ink, and the fabulous new Stitched Nested Labels. The sentiments are from Beautiful Bouquet which is not new but is new in my collection. I wanted a little bit of detail behind the label so I used the Flourish ...
