JAI#364 copper and white flowers

A super quick post to get my card entry in on time. Opened up a set I have been longing to use. Thanks JAI for the inspiration picture. I've picked up the copper from the vase in the copper embossing, the brick motif on the embossing paste, the timber in the embossed vellum and the white and yellow flowers in the painted flowers. After heat embossing with white powder on white Craft Ink stamped image, I coloured the leaves and flowers with white Craft ink using the blender pen, then coloured over the dry white images with Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight using the blender pen.  It's a lovely soft image coloured this way. The colour palette from the picture also included Smoky Slate cardstock layered behind the Crumb Cake panel. The word "lovely comes from the new Lovely word thinlits- so beautiful, and I then embossed the whole piece with the Copper Powder. The little friendis from Teeny Tiny sentiments - I looked through all my sets for "my" but cou...

CTC#126 Flowers for Mother's Day

Welcome back this week where we are CASEing the Catty to make a project for Mother's Day. I still find beautiful inspiration in the catalogue every time I look through it and wonder why I haven't noticed certain projects in the past. This was the case with this week's card - although I have CASE'd the gift bag on page 47 of the Annual Catalogue - which is nearly at the end of it's time.    I loved the copper embossing on the brown paper bag, the lace, and the watercolored image on the tag. So using those features and the Falling Flowers Stamp set I created a card suitable for Mother's Day. I heat embossed the images with white embossing powder on Shimmer White Cardstock and then coloured each flower of leaf with my aqua painter. I was short on time so didn't attempt masking but rather cut each flower with the coordinating framelits and layered them on the tag. I'm so pleased this set is not on the retirement list as I love the flowe...

CI08 Playing with Gold

Welcome back to Colour INKspiration this week. We're a bit out of sync lately having had the changes to timetables with Easter and Anzac Day. So it's good to get back into the swing of things.  This week's inspiration picture is just so gorgeous but browns are not a colour palette many of us use routinely as a base so I found it hard to get started for this project.  I began with some clear block "smooshing" using delightful Dijon and Shimmer Paper which created a nice panel to use for the accents and sentiment. I did actually stamp the butterflies and heat emboss them with clear powder but that doesn't show up very well in the photography. Then I used my favourite leaf image from Kinda Eclectic and created a full sheet of background card stamping with soft Suede onto Tip Top Taupe. I'm really sad that this set is retiring - but i don;t think it will leave my shelves!!  I loved the panel but wanted to accentuate with some gold highlights so I sta...
