Needlepoint Nook and Just Add Ink #434

Hello again. Still having fun with the Needlepoint Nook suite today. I have a stash of  flowers cut and ready to add to any project. The scrabble letters caught my eye as I was looking for something else so I set myself a little challenge to use them today. The woodgrain tag was part of the same set and the real red ribbon has just been asking to be used. I am in love with the foil edged cards- they make any task just so easy. At this end of the school year there are so many amazing young adults about to embark on their next phase of life. Cards like this can be very helpful to say congratulations. I think it fits for the challenge at Just Add Ink this week. #434 a few little details popped in among the blossoms! Back to work on finishing some Christmas cards but this was fun. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

ANZAC Dawn scrapbooking, JAI #422

I have never been a scrapbooker but every now and then I have a go.  This beautiful photo means a lot to me. The colours of dawn are beautiful. But the image calls me to remember the Courage, the Honour and the Sacrifice which represent the lives of so many, and which have been given for us that we may enjoy this life in this beautiful country. The watercolour panel is painted with Real Red, Calypso Coral and Powder Pink, with a hint of Night of Navy at the top. The white base has been coloured with Sahara Sand and a sponge roller, and I hope it has a slightly uneven feel to it, like sand in the desert. The embossing paste has been coloured with Sahara Sand ink and applied over the middle eastern looking mask. I figured the sand colour was appropriate. I stamped the sentiment onto one of the labels from the Delightfully Detailed Memories and More pack as I loved the coral Watercolour effect. The font is quite lovely from Make a Difference. And while the Amazing You ...

Hearts and Poppies for a double challenge.

I have so much gorgeous paper and love it when a challenge prompts me to use larger pieces. This paper is retired but I loved it so much I still have a few sheets- saving them for something special ( I know you know what I mean). The sketch from TGIFC this week #150 is perfect for using up paper.  And I've combined it with the colours from the Global Design Project for #GDP129 I didn't have much Soft Suede in DSP but I think the wood grain works well with the floral paper. I'm so excited the wood grain paper will be continuing on in the next annual catalogue- it's been so popular universally. The amazing you Sale A Bration set won't be around for much longer but it is such a gorgeous flower. I heat embossed the heart with clear powder onto vanilla and then coloured the heart with watercolour Coral. Thanks so much for stopping by today. I will have more cards using this great layout to share soon. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  ...

CTC#165 - more Sale-a-Bration amazingness!

Welcome back for another week CASEing the amazing pages of the Sale A Bration Brochure. I'm away on holidays next week so wanted to make sure I wouldn't miss too many episodes- and besides it's a great reason to excuse myself form the dishes and get crafting!  The Celebrate YOu Thinlits are beautiful- and best of all they WILL be continuing in the next catalogue. The stampset which matches will not be continuing however so make sure to order yours if you love it as much as I do. For this card I wanted to use all 3 thinlits and I CASEd the card on the bottom of page 17, I didn't have enough time to cut out 3 or 4 of the celebrate and cut them into blocks of letters for the ombre effect they describe in the brochure. Instead I cut one word from Sahara Sand and using paper as a mask I sponged it lightly with a dauber using increasing intensity of Berry Burst Ink. To make the word stand out a little I cut a second word from Copper and adhered the 2 slight...

A Romantic Shaker for JAI#394 - #useitup #1

Just Add Ink this week have the challenge of Just adding Romance. I have been trying to use up some of the many half packs of product I have accumulated and  the bits and bobs on my desktop. - my personal challenge to #useitup. This includes a few packs of Memories and More cards Today I have used up one of the cards, some sequins, some gold foil washi and a gold glimmer strip of hearts. The card is in the gorgeous Mint Macaron (my favourite green - so sad that it's retired) in an ombre style and I just loved the sentiment  - Fall in Love with Moments.  I was not going to be able to easily cover the width of the opening with the card so I opted instead to cut out the circle and adhere that to the card base inside the shaker. I created this shaker card and used the Amazing You stamp set in the Sale a Bration Catalogue.  The flower was heat embossed in gold on crumb cake and painted with Berry Burst using my blender pen. Since I've already cut my stamp...

CTC#164 CASEing the gorgeous KITS in the Occasions Catalogue

Welcome back for the Sunday night treat - CASEing the kits section from the catalogue. There are several just gorgeous kits in this catalogue - and so stunning when completed. The best thing about the Lots of Happy Card Kit is that you can purchase the refill kits. Recently for our Stamping Retreat we included one full 1/4 of a refill kit in everyone's goodie bag. They received everything they needed to make one of each of the beautiful card you see in this week's inspiration pic. However, I decided instead this week to CASE the layout of one of the cards on the bottom of page 17. I love the  background stamping using some text,  a little feature element  a coloured card base some matching sponging behind the element to tie the colours together and a sentiment stamped over the background I did get a bit carried away in the end..... not unusual.....and ended up with lots of backgrounds.  So I made them all up. My goal this weekend is to use up all the ...
