Alternative sample with Changing Leaves - simple stamping with Pretty in Pink

This is a card I made a little while ago but hadn't got around to sharing, I hope you like it. The fabulous Changing Leaves set is a hybrid bundle - you can purchase the stamp set alone or combine it with the Hybrid 3D embossing folder and the dies which cut and emboss the 3 large leaves all at once. I have used that for the textured maple shape leaf in a recycled cardstock in this example. The Background is simply stamped using the medium leaf sprig and some Pretty in Pink ink. I also stamped one of the sentiment stamps randomly on the background piece just for some interest.  The circles are diecut using the Everyday Details dies  Add a little bit of linen thread with your crumb cake cardstock and you have a very simple but striking card. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find some inspiration to create something lovely. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Layering Leaves #simplestamping#2

At my recent class we focused on the fabulous Layering Leaves stampset . I created several designs that used just the stampset, then some that also used the coordinating bough punch . We used a lot of blues. Each leaf sprig was stamped on a slightly different angle, and at slightly different heights to give a more organic feel to the image. The leaf "in-fill" stamp was stamped off a few times to give a really faint random image which added a subtle hint of colour and background texture. The same technique was applied to the next class card but in a larger panel for a different effect. The cute little "dottage" stamp was used to create the lower border. Playing around with the stamps to create a background panel I tried vertical and horizontal rows, with the images both upright and upside-down. I used pencil lines drawn 1 1/4" apart as a guide for the stems. Here's a few ideas Multiple rows also worked well And as an alternative I then stamped a flower image...

Layering Leaves for a beautiful background, #simplestamping #1

For my Layering Leaves class I have been playing with both the Stampset on its own and together with the punch. #simplestamping is a concept where you just use stamps, ink and paper. It's a harder technique for me because I love lots of layers and I have the coordinating Bough Punch. And of course with the the Die cut and Emboss machine you can create endless detailed layers. It's good to go back to basics and explore the possibilities of using the stampset alone. I have a few cards where I created a large panel of background paper using the stamps in random patterns, or others where I used them in more ordered rows and stripes. I liked these the best. In cut these into smaller pieces and made them the focus of my card. Using each of the leaf sprig images I stamped in vertical rows using Berry Burst ink. For some interest I used Pool Party ink and the Leaf fill in image and randomly stamped over the top although it was stamped off for a less intense image. Finally I used the ...

Merriest Moments #simplestamping Project 2 and 3 Easy cards

This weekend I held my Christmas Card Class and catalogue launch showcasing the new Christmas Catalogue. It was a great day and we did 6 projects using the  Merriest Moments Stampset .  I created several projects designed to show that the set is brilliant on it's own.  Since not everyone owns a die cutting machine it is good to look at ways to utilise the stamps. There are lots of gorgeous samples around which focus on the Hybrid dies and embossing folder - and don't get me wrong they are an amazing product to use - but I have a few cards which just use the stamps, this is the second and third. This card uses the Holly Leaf - either medium or large- and random stamping across the card. The berries just tuck in perfectly and are easy to line up. In between the Holly I stamped the leaf frond with the rounded leaves using Sahara Sand, (anyone know what this is called?) and then filled in the spaces with the little "dottage" stamp using versamark and Heat Embossing wit...

Merriest Moments Christmas Card Class-#simplestamping

This weekend I held my Christmas Card Class and catalogue launch showcasing the new Christmas Catalogue. It was a great day and we did 6 projects using the Merriest Moments Stampset .  I created several projects designed to show that the set is brilliant on it's own. Since not everyone owns a die cutting machine it is good to look at ways to utilise the stamps. There are lots of samples around which focus on the dies and embossing folder - which are stunning- but I have a few cards which just use the stamps, this is the first. This is a really versatile set and the individual images stamp so easily to create simple or complex designs. This one is simple and super effective. Not everyone is comfortable with random stamping so this is the first step And this is the second Leaving about 2 cm border at the top of your card ( use your grid paper as a guide) stamp the dark leaves first ( Evening Evergreen), followed by the foliage in a lighter shade of green. I used Mint Macaron for this...

CI#100 MAY 26 Stunning Colour combo- Inkspired by Lavender fields.

This week's colour combo is just so happy and bright, and amazingly, it's our 100th challenge. I've been with this group from the start so even though I have struggled to find time to participate recently I could not let this occasion go by. My cards are very simple but with such vibrant colours that's probably best. I used the fabulous new Perfect Plants suite and had a little bit of fun. The first card uses one of the new stencils for the background, but the second is much more clean and simple. So glad the brick wall embossing folder is staying with us, it's a must have. This is a great set for a beginner stamper, it's so easy to use, and very on trend. One of my kids tells me houseplants are the new pets! Not sure if I agree but it does amaze me just how many beautiful pots of plants they all care for! This is the inside- very simple. Isn't this just the most fun photo? INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by...
