Lillybet's Papers

I have been using a few Australian made dies recently and love the new Grasstree die which comes in a set with the old Rusty Ute. These are some sets of cards I have  made using strips of old maps-( these are from the Mundubbera sheet 9046) and the grass tree die. I have cut the shape from Always Artichoke card and then sponged the flower stems with Early Espresso, and stamped some foliage texture on the leaf base using leaves from French Foliage. I love how they have turned out. The envelope and the inside of the card also have some stamping using images from Tap, Tap, Tap, Gorgeous Grunge and Because you Care. I love to layer these sorts of images to finish off my cards. They come packaged like this. thanks for looking, Liz

The colour challenge for this week is a beautiful soft combination and I am rushing to get finished before the deadline!!!! The rotary stamp makes it super easy to personalise your own message. I loved the swing card on Julie Davison's blog and have wants to try it so today is the day! Saturday June 13 saw 26 participants making cards and having a great afternoon raising funds for the Western Qld Drought Appeal. Many of the ladies had never tried card making but everyone had a lovely afternoon and went home with 4 cards they had made themselves. These were the cards I designed. Each table had a Stampin Up demonstrator from my little team guiding and assisting, and participants moved from table to table working at their own pace. My beautiful Mum and her cousin came up on the train from Nambour to Rockhampton to help and they ran the Crafternoon Tea buffet superbly. The new sketch challenge at Just Add Ink is a simple design that has so many possibilities. I love the typewriter image from Tap Tap Tap and I have combined it with some of my retired DSP. .... Problem is that that is quite a big pile which I need to use up to make room for the new designs coming soon which I'm sure I will want to/ have to have!!!!  (this card doesn't use too much so I may have to make LOTS of cards!) The new Catalogue has such lovely products, and I am totally loving the Irresisitbly Yours DSP. - one of the Sale-A-Bration  products free with Purchases over $90. So I have chosen to use it for this weeks CASEing the Catty challenge #16. Bronwyn has such a beautiful card and I only just learned that you can stamp on the DSP before sponging or misting and it gives another layer to the paper. I saw this first by Carolyn Lindenmeyer whose blog is Carolyn's Card Creations . There is a video link which demonstrates this , and I too must thank  Linda Heller  (When the rubber Hits the Road)  for this idea I saw on her blog. Well of course I couldn't make only one card, but I am entering this first one into the Challenge. I cut the DSP to 12x24 cm since I am quite fond of square cards. I stamped the Dictionary Stamp as the background, then when I wiped off the Soft Suede Ink it filled in the background colour. To brighten it I then sponged Wisteria Wonder around ...

THE very talented Narelle Farrugia is the host at this weeks Freshly Made Sketches.  So since I am playing with my new stamp set trying to get some sample prepared for my Catalogue Launch next week I thought I should  add this sketch into the mix. It's great. Mine uses Lost Lagoon and some of the paper from the Moonlight series DSP. Quick and Easy - just  what we all need.  Thanks for looking, Liz

I was so keen to order this stamp set on my first new Catalogue purchase and it is great.  Have done a few cards now including a CASE from the catalogue which I'll share later. colours are Soft Sky, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Pear Pizazz - with Lucky Limeade in the spotty brad- still have a few little treasures I can't sell or give away from my stash, though I am working hard to use some of them!! The paper is from the new Specialy Paper which is very light and lovely to use. the little "HI" I stamped using the large letter keys stamp and then I just punched them out with a single regular hole punch and attached with a glue dot- employed this on quite a few designs. My other card for today is not part of a challenge but I am really happy with it too. Thanks for looking. Liz
