CTC#118 Quick and Easy cards

Welcome back for another week at CASEing the Catty. Since I'm a bit time poor at present I flicked through the Catalogue for some quick and easy cards this week. I liked the bright and simple cards on page 34 so was happy to have a play with that layout.  I also wanted to use the opportunity to play with the lovely Make a Medallion set which is only available for the next few weeks of Sale a Bration. Since it's a circle shape it fits nicely with the layout. Cutting up some DSP is always a little hard until you actually make the slice but I pushed myself to do just that. I do love Mint Macarron and I'll be very sad when it retires this year, so cutting into a full sheet was a challenge for me.  this week CTC#118 is taking inspiration from pages 32-45 of the Occasions Catalogue Here's the layout in the strawberry paper. I used a mix of different DSP strips as the accent and layered the circe sentiment in a few different ways. I also had fun pl...

CTC#47 First inspiration from the Christmas Catalogue -Let's Kit Together

Welocme back to the bloghop. We are launched onto the Christmas Catalogue. It's such an amazing Catalogue and there is so much in it to drool over!  You may have arrived here from Helen's great blog . I have to admit that I don't own any of the christmas Kits. My wish list from the new catalogue was quite extensive and kits were down the list a little but I do have some beautiful products to play with and to showyou (as well as some old favourites that have been in previous Christmas Catalogues). I was very taken with the bright fresh colour scheme of the To You and Yours Shaker Cards Project Kit. (p4).  I am off to The Handmade Expo Markets tomorrow and as well as cards I sell quite a few journals. Christmas is a time of planning so what better way to start getting organised than to have a dedicated Christmas planner- and the Shaker element was just the icing on the cake, as well as a little challenge! I had to tie some red cord around the base o...

CTC#45 Hostess sets

Hi again and welcome back to the CTC blog where we are CASEing the Hostess sets in the Catalogue (p178-181). If you have followed from the beginning of the bloghop you will have come the full circle and arrived from Jess . She always has such stylish creations. The Hostess sets are such good value and there's always some great sets on offer. I have chosen to use the Happy Birthday Everyone set (at the top of the page) which is so useful, and I CASEd the card on the bottom of page 179.  The only problem was that once I had finished I realised it is very similar to last weeks card, and that again I have been drawn to orange and black!!(Not usually my colours!) So I decided to add a male version to show how adaptable this set is. Island Indigo and Lost Lagoon. Watermelon Wonder and Tangerine Tango I don't own the large Dahlia background stamp so I substituted the tree leaves from Sheltering Tree for the colour coming in from the top left cor...

Christmas Star

The Beautiful Christmas Star stamp. Heat embossed white on white card, sponged over the top with Sahara Sand Ink and Peace on earth stamped in Silver ink.  The Gorgeous Champagne glimmer paper behind really sets this off. a simple pearl and it's done. Easy, but elegant I think. Hope you try it. Liz
