Social Stamping with HEARTS

Hello again - back for some more Social Stamping with Kelly, and this week the theme is hearts. It's so nice to share this hobby and stamp with friends from all over the place. A buckle card is an easy fun fold that makes an interesting card. I shared some Honey Bee Samples here, where you will find the measurements and instructions link, but today I have an alternative version using the gorgeous Peaceful Poppies. I watercoloured a whole sheet of the fabulous Fluid 100 watercolour paper using Merry Merlot, Rococo Rose and Petal Pink. Then I heat embossed the poppies in white and cut out a whole sheet of flowers and hearts. Now I can create a stack of cards quite quickly. I hope you get lots of time to be creative too. Be sure and hop all the way around the group. Next this week is Peta I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

Colour INKspiration #78 Gorgeous pink.

Hello friendly colour lovers! This week's colour palette is very refined - and open to so many different interpretations. Blushing Bride is a very versatile pink but it has taken a back seat recently to the more "peachy" pale pink.  I have been having so much fun with the brand new Jar Punch and the coordinating self adhesive jars which will be available next week - June 3rd.  They are incredibly easy to use and just so effective. I have created this card using 3 punches- the jar, the little flower and the sprig punch. I watercoloured a piece of shimmery white cardstock with only Blushing Bride ink, then I punched out a selection of flowers. These were shaped using the large ball end of the stylus and adhered using foam dots. All the leaves were created using only punches   The jars are quite high but they are so effective, and dead easy to use. I have filled mine with a selection of beads, sequins and sparkly bits from various collections around my craft room. I have a

CI# 77 soft greens for a retiring beauty

Welcome back to Colour INKspiration # 77.  I have to confess I don't even know what day it is, but I do know these colours are delightful- soft greens and blue. It's that time of the year when the new catalogue has been announced and I take a look at the sets I love which are retiring soon. Botanical blooms is one of those. And even though I haven't used this as much as I though I would I definitely love it. The bird bower is adhered over a watercolour wash on Shimmery White Cardstock.  The leaves are included in the thinlits and are so delicat, 2 in soft sea foam and one watercoloured shimmery white in Garden Green. I added a few sentiments from the Parisian Beauty set, and a few pearls. You might notice a sneak peak of a new Embossing Folder coming in June - Tasteful Textile- it's bound to be as popular as the Subtle folder. I love it already.  Inside is stamped with one of the other delicate little flower sprays from the set. I hope you a

Social Stamping Family Theme

time again for some social stamping with a group of wonderfully talented stampers. Thanks to Kelly for organising this each week. Happily we are creating with a "family" theme this week, so of course I have Mother's Day cards to share. Neither my Mum, or my mother-in-law or any of our children (adults) live near us so I do like to make a nice Mother's Day card to send them each year. This year I have been inspired by Lou who has been whipping up a storm with her Bay Window Cards. (you might remember them from Social Stamping last Saturday). I thought they looked fabulous and made some straight away! They are really effective and very easy. You can see Lou's creations here and the instructions (from Alicia Yap)  here I am so glad this stamp set is continuing on in the new catalogue. It has some really wonderful images and sentiments. I painted all of the floral pieces with the inks, using a watercolour brush on Shimmery White cardstock s

Rip and Flip technique for some Quick & Easy cards, to stay connected while distancing! #Sharesunshine

Hello again. Just sharing a quick post with some easy cards you can whip up to send paper hugs to your friends who are also isolating at home. This is a great design to use up some of your DSP- and I know you all have a stash at home! You can easily create a stack to have on hand and simply add the appropriate sentiment when you need a card in a hurry. I am grateful to Jacqui Williams from NZ and the link to her video is below. It is such a beautiful part of paper crafting that there are so many who gladly share directions and tips. I used this technique for my Birthday card for yesterday's social Stamping in Isolation, you can read that post here . Today some of my team had a get together (thankyou Zoom) and we each made one of these style cards. measurements: Whisper White/ Very Vanilla: Card Base- standard A5 size in Australia 21cm x 14.8 cm scored at 10.5 Mat  5 1/2" x 3 3/4" Scrap for sentiment DSP 6" x 3 3/4" - make sure directional pap

Social Stamping - Birthdays in Isolation

Hello again from Home Isolation! Hope your week has been productive and peaceful. What an incredible thought that we have not had the same horrid medical experience of other countries and that we are perhaps changing isolation restrictions soon.  It is still such an uncertain road ahead.  For those who have had their birthdays in isolation it must certainly have been a different way to celebrate. If that's you I hope it was happy! We are hopping again tonight with Kelly vie her social stamping blog. Stampin' Up! has launched a Fundraising initiative with a digital download of sentiments inspired by the Covid-19 Global Pandemic. For $12(US) you can download 15 pages of sentiments and simply print them out at home to decorate your cards. They are bright and fun and easy to use. I have created a little selection of cards and have more sentiments cut out ready to go. But here is my Birthday Card- pretty simple.  The Sentiment on the front is from my printout- there
