Quick Easter Treats with "Hey Chick" and some retiring products

This morning I whipped up a few small gifts for the staff in the office. (before my husband went to work, super quick) I love using up bits and pieces that I have been saving  (no it's not hoarding if you use them, no matter how long it takes you to get round to it!) And though the gift is very small the wrapping says "You Matter"! Lots of lucky people have the "Hey Chick" set in their stash now, and this is a great way to use it for Easter. I ran out of time for baking, so each bag contains a selection of Easter eggs, but it's not really about the chocolate, it's about giving. These use up some retiring ribbon and twine and DSP in the Cucumber Crush range, As well as some old ribbon and retired paper.  It's amazing what you can do with the Triple Banner Punch, some string and a stapler Cucumber Crush Melon Mambo These days I love to have a stash of little paper bags on hand. These are not Stampin' Up! but they were the...

CTC#117, SAB and a handy layout

Welcome back for another week. This week I have taken a layout from page 12 and ended up on a journey with a few unplanned changes - do you ever start crafting with one plan in mind but it then takes a different direction? Happens to me all the time... Welcome back for another week at CTC, you may have arrived from  Rachel , or you may be starting here, but sit back with a cuppa and enjoy the hop around this week's collection of projects inspired by pages 12-15 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. There's heaps to see. If you get lost you can find the full crew  here . So here's where my journey began.. I liked the partial die cut element where the taco truck outline comes right off the edge of the circle, so I planned to try that with the chicken. You need to stamp your image first, lay the frame lit (any shape) so that part of the image extends outside the circle, and lay your top acrylic plate so that part of the circle (or other frame lit) is not covered by t...

Just lovin' the chickens.

These guys are so cute to work with. here's one for The Handmade Expo Markets coming soon on Feb 25 at the Rockhampton Showgrounds, and these guys are the rest of what I made the other day with scraps from my desk.....so much fun. Don't forget you can earn your own set of these guys too but only during SaleAbration - purchase $90 worth of any Stampin' Up! products and this could be your free set.  - just click on the Shop Now rainbow button and it will take you directly to the online store where you can browse all the products in the catalogues. or if you would like a private class for 4-6 friends based on this set let me know and I'll arrange it for you. I'll give you a break from chickens for a while now! Liz

Hey Chick using Colour INKSpiration 02 colours

This week's colour INKspiration (02) colours had me trying lots of things before the challenge. My original idea was to use the Hey Chick set, but it didn't quite work the way I had in my head so I put it aside and created the tiled collage instead. ( You can see that here.) So I had lots of chickens lying around on my desk - here's a selection of what I came up with - literally using up scraps of DSP and bits and bobs from my useful box! ....ie my desktop!  If you would like to join in with this fortnight's challenge all you need to do is create card using all the colours in the INKspiration photo below. Ask to be added to the Colour INKspiration Facebook group. Take a photo of your creation  Upload it to the page. If you have a blog you can upload your link, but if you don't have one that's OK , the idea is for all of us to share our ideas. It's a great challenge. thanks for looking, I'll be looking for your upload! Liz ...
