CI#13 Did I mention Green is my fave?

Welcome back to another week of colourful inspiration. This week Bronwyn has selected another gorgeous inspiration pic, and this time it has green in it!! I have found some of the challenges...well....challenging because there hasn't been any green in many of them. It has been a revelation to me as to how often I reach for it. Do you have a go-to colour?? I am still struggling to use Lemon-Lime Twist but it worked beautifully in a watercolour wash together with Wild Wasabi on some shimmer paper. I then dropped clean water from my aquapainter and let it spread the colour around which gave me a few patches of quite pale colour.  On a second panel I did some more mixed green watercolouring and then stamped some text over the colour while it was still damp using the border stamps from  Background Bits. When that piece was dry I used it to die cut some leaves.(I like the detail of the leaves from Falling Flowers rather than the solid shape from Swirly Birds for t...

CTC#133 and a happy accidental discovery

Welcome back for another week at CTC where we are casing the projects from pages 86-101. There were a few projects in here which inspired me but I want to take you on a little creative journey to where I ended up this week and a happy accidental new technique I discovered along the way. The aim of CTC is to take a project which inspires you from the catalogue and use it as a springboard for your creations. My first card used the same background stamping tone on tone in the beautiful new Powder Pink, the word and heart from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits , the little roses from Swirly Bird and one of the gorgeous new Touches of Nature Elements - these wooden elements are natural timber on one side and white on the other - scrumptious! I poked a little bit of ribbon and...

CI03 Marina Tiles crazy collage

Welcome back for the Colour INKspiration colour challenge #03. This week's colours are based on this cute tile seaside pic that Bronwyn chose I have to say I struggled with these colours for a while, and I tried several different approaches. In the end I was inspired by the tiles and the pattern made in putting them together. I also loved the Raised accents in Solid White . So I revisited an old scrapbook of mine with some old layouts which I have admired along the way, and found several of them I liked using tiled layouts of inchies etc. In the end I watercolored two pieces of watercolour paper using Marina Mist, Peekaboo Peach and Soft Sky, drying the paper between each colour so they didn't just bleed together in a brown mess!   I cut them randomly into several squares using the stitched framelits(not the tiny one-the next one up) Then I decorated each one with some subtle stamping using either Soft Suede or using tone on tone stamping using Timeless T...
