Father's Day cards using Foil Frenzy

It's sometimes not easy to come up with masculine cards but at class last weekend we focused on Father's Day and embossing paste techniques. These are 2 of the cards we made on Saturday. The Foil Frenzy  kraft DSP is sp bright and fun. I've also used images from one of my current faves- Bookcase Builder ( If you follow me you will have seen other Father's Day cards here). I've also used the Badges and Banners set whcih is one of those sets which I have used way more than I would have predicted - love a matching punch and stamp. Sneak Peak also of the fabulous leaf image and matching punch from the coming Sunflower Set. This is my colour Palette. Sahara Sand Soft Suede Pool Party Lemon Lime Twist I've also used words and sentiments from Guy Greetings and Teeny Tiny Sentiments. Thanks for looking, and remember "don't just post online, post something pretty!" Liz Bookcase Builder Photopoly...

Looking backwards to go forwards! First 6 of my favourites from 2016

Well as the year has closed and I am stuck for some inspiration for where to get started with some new products I am looking back at some of my favourite and my most popular post from 2016. And I am totally grateful! By far the best thing about 2016 was getting to know my local demo friends better and spending more time creating as a group. The May CQ Craft Expo and Onstage on the Gold Coast really kicked off some great ideas and we have had much more fun times together this year. Secondly, being part of the CASEing the Catty team has really been amazing. I have learnt so much from this group of wonderful stampers, and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to meet most of them at Onstage in November in Brisbane. It was wonderful to meet and share with so many other creative people. I have enjoyed selling my creations at the Handmade Expo Markets in Rockhampton, and further afield. I am always honoured when I am asked to make a Birthday or Wedding or Baby or Anniversary card for ...

Another few easy mini Z fold card with a masculine/Father's day theme

Since the Mini Z fold cards are so easy to make, and you get 2 from each sheet of A4 cardstock I have been able to make a few at the same time. Here's another 3 , still using masculine elements which would be perfect for Father's day or a birthday. You'll find the link to the instructions on this post here , and also another example here . The first uses Swirly Bird, and the sentiments and anchor are from Guy Greetings. The next uses Guy Greetings. And of course they all have matching handmade envelopes! I hope your Dad or the man in your life has a wonderful Father's Day this weekend, thanks for looking,  Liz

CTC#93 Expressing yourself for Father's Day

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday night bloghop where we use a section of the Catalogue to inspire this weeks projects. Designers can take a layout, a colour combination, or any element as the starting point to create something new. We invite you to tour around the hop and to join in -after all the Catalogue has so many beautiful samples to inspire us all. If you get lost you'll find the full crew  here This week we are revisiting the samples from the huge section -ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS from pages 92-157 . You're sure to find something here that inspires you. Since it is Father's day next week I have been busy making masculine cards .I wanted  a simple layout to CASE so I have chosen the sweet square card on page 104.  It's a great way to use some DSP  the Moroccan DSP is great for bright fresh masculine cards. Sprinkles of Life hasn't seen much action this year since the amazing Thoughtful Branches set has been on the scene. However, I used the sen...

Thoughtful Branches wedding card

I was asked to make a wedding card in pink tones and I was keen to use the Thoughtful Branches tree die for this because it is so stunning. The leaves behind are stamped with Pink Pirouette using the tree leaves from the  Sheltering Tree set which is just a little softer than the leaves from the Thoughtful Branches set. The real truth however is that I was in a hurry and it was the easiest set to grab!!! The heart is punched out from White Glimmer Paper and because I was in haste I used some cute little resin birds which were in my stash. The thoughtful branches set has 2 adorable birds that also face each other but I was pushed for time. The sentiments are from Confetti Celebration and on the inside from Gut Greetings. This set is only available until the end of August so get in quick to add it to your collection. It really is stunning. Thanks so much for looking, Liz

Playing with some new paper for FMS#250

It has been ages since I could find some time to be creative but I managed to sneak in a few quick cards today, and when you are short for time what better way to work than to start with a sketch. I have been lucky enough to preorder some of the new stock which is coming in the new Christmas catalogue and have been itching to play with it.  this came together quickly -partly because the watercolour panel has been sitting on my desk for ages. The card front features 2 new patterns from the Paisley and Petals DSP. It is nice to have some razzle berry back in the mix.I cut the flower and the leaves from the White Glimmer Paper and I coloured the leaves with the Pear Pizazz stamp pad. Not sure which pack the floral embellishment is from but it sits nicely over a small stamped circle of Sweet Sugarplum. As always I have a little touch of stamping on the inside and a handmade envelope to match ( not sure where this paper is from either) but the envelope punch board makes it so easy. than...

Happy Hour - Cute Birthday Stand Up Cards

How cute are these stamped images and sentiments? I have a selection of these available at the Handmade Expo Markets this weekend. These stand up cards fold flat for posting. "Friends Don't Let Friends Wine Alone" is still under construction but here's a little sneak peak at some of them.... This gives a better view of standing and then folded flat I will have a tutorial on these soon, but it too is still under construction!! Thanks for looking, Liz

Masculine birthday cards

I have had these 2 cards made for awhile so it's time to share. Guy Greeings works so well for the, and a little bit of watercolouring was just right. I touched up the car with a metallic gel pen just to highlight the wheels and frame. The tree is from Lighthearted Leaves. The first is Island Indigo, the second in Lost Lagoon. - And being square, I made the envelopes to match. Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Lighthearted Leaves - a retiring favourite.

I think any paper crafter can easily understand why the adult colouring craze has taken off - we've been doing it for relaxation for ages. I am particularly enjoying colouring in with my blender pen and using the aqua painter as a finishing touch, and the Lighthearted Leaves set is perfect for this. Here are a few samples I was working on recently. I wonder if paint by numbers is the next craze to return?  Sadly Lighthearted Leaves won't be returning so if you like the look of what you can do here you need to order it before the catalogue retires. It's easy if you go to my online store here or you can drop me an email and Ill be happy to order it for you.  thanks for looking, Liz
