The colour challenge for this week is a beautiful soft combination and I am rushing to get finished before the deadline!!!! The rotary stamp makes it super easy to personalise your own message. Lighthearted Leaves is beautiful new set in the Christmas Catalogue which will be released September 1st.When I first saw this set I knew I had to have it - and apparently my tastes must be well known because one of my lovely demonstrator friends laughed and said that she knew I would get it as soon as she saw it!! I can see such a lot of potential with this set- and you will see more posts using it! There are a few techniques used on this card. Firstly I stamped the dictionary background stamp over the Dots and Stripes stencil onto a crumb cake piece, and then sponged the excess ink still sitting on the stencil over the dots, to give a unique background. This is such an easy answer when you don't have any background paper to match your chosen colour- in this case Blackberry Bliss. Following on from the trifold card I made for the CTC challenge last week this was the card we made at class on the weekend.  ( you can see the original -brown/blue/green version here ) . The card base is 10.5cm x 26cm , scored at 10 and 20.5 cm. Emboss the 10cm flap with a folder of your choice - the brick wall looks great as does the wildflower meadow or the Lovely Lace . The flowers are stamped using the baby wipe technique  and the flower image from Crazy About You, and punched out with the scallop circle punch.  They are adhered along the edge of the 6cm flap to give an uneven edge. I then lightly sponged over the raised  embossing. I picked up some of the ink from the baby wipe and lightly finger walked the Dictionary stamp over the narrow flap. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs and punched out with the 1" circle and the backing circle is punched with 1 1/4" punch from a spare flower.  I'm not normally an orange girl but these appeal to me!...

The new Catalogue has such lovely products, and I am totally loving the Irresisitbly Yours DSP. - one of the Sale-A-Bration  products free with Purchases over $90. So I have chosen to use it for this weeks CASEing the Catty challenge #16. Bronwyn has such a beautiful card and I only just learned that you can stamp on the DSP before sponging or misting and it gives another layer to the paper. I saw this first by Carolyn Lindenmeyer whose blog is Carolyn's Card Creations . There is a video link which demonstrates this , and I too must thank  Linda Heller  (When the rubber Hits the Road)  for this idea I saw on her blog. Well of course I couldn't make only one card, but I am entering this first one into the Challenge. I cut the DSP to 12x24 cm since I am quite fond of square cards. I stamped the Dictionary Stamp as the background, then when I wiped off the Soft Suede Ink it filled in the background colour. To brighten it I then sponged Wisteria Wonder around ...

The first of my card classes for this year will be next weekend, and after wondering where to start I think a butterfly theme is calling me.  So this is a sample of the type of thing we will be making. 19/02 Edit to post. Well I'm so amazed but this card has been on the Leaderboard on Stampin Connection and was the top sample for a while. I am touched. And after requests for details I am adding those here. The card base is Soft Sky , as is the ring which I cut using 2 different sizes of the Circles Thinlits . The layers of Cardstock are Sahara Sand and Naturals White. I stamped images on the Naturals White  Cardstock first using Soft Sky and Sahara Sand from the Kinda Eclectic set, and also with the Dictionary background stamp. I then ran this piece through the big shot using the Lovely Lace Embossing folde r ( which I love).  Using the butterflies thinlits I cut the lacy butterfly from Sahara Sand and sponged the edges of this using soft sky, (and I thi...
