So this is a fabulous photo this week but I have to admit the colours were certainly a challenge! But that's what it's all about right. I also challenged myself to use a stampset which I haven't used much and so I was able to combine both the Birds and Branches stampset and dies which have not been as loved as much as they deserve, and the fabulous Stitched Leaves dies which I can already see will be easy to use. Cajun Craze is not a colour I use often and it is very strong, but when you add water and tone it down it is a gorgeous colour. It blended really well with Pale Papaya using the smoosh technique on some of my favourite Shimmery White Cardstock. I also cut the leaves from Shimmery white and added straight ink to the dark green leaves, and painted the fine stems using my water painter. I love how the stitching in the leaves is so effective. I love the inspiration challenges at Just Add Ink, but sadly I've not had much time to participate this year, so I'm really glad to be able to join in this week. It's a gorgeous inspiration I totally love the natural elements and colours in this photo- and who doesn't Love brown paper packages tied up with string as one of their favourite things. I regularly create journals for the markets and they are often personalised using bits of old music, old text, wine journals , study notes etc but this one is much simpler.  My advertising sign at the market says   "Empty Journal seeks creative genius  for casual fling" or "empty journal seeks creative mind for meaningful relationship" I have covered a lined journal using some of the crisp green and white striped DSP from the new Sweet Soiree Specialty pack.  The journal has a beautiful neutral base which makes the decorative elements stand out. Hello and welcome back for another round of inspiration from this very large section of the catalogue.  I CASEd a lot of the cards in this section before my Catalogue Launch day and I know I haven't shown you all of them. So this week I have two different samples which I have CASE'd from this section The first is the gorgeous BIRDS on page 139. The blue version using DSP from the Delightful Daisy DSP and the birds framelits, and the branch from the Colourful Seasons thinlits makes an easy card to put together. The second version is more like the catalogue sample and uses the frond image from Ready to Pop. Welcome back for another week at CTC where we are casing the projects from pages 86-101. There were a few projects in here which inspired me but I want to take you on a little creative journey to where I ended up this week and a happy accidental new technique I discovered along the way. The aim of CTC is to take a project which inspires you from the catalogue and use it as a springboard for your creations. This week I used the card on the top left of this half of page 97.  I am a fan of layers and little clusters of elements and of stitching so all 3 of these things appealed in the love you more card here. My first card used the same background stamping tone on tone in the beautiful new Powder Pink, the word and heart from Sunshine Wishes Thinlits , the little roses from Swirly Bird and one of the gorgeous new Touches of Nature Elements - these wooden elements are natural timber on one side and white on the other - scrumptious!
