So I do really love a card that sits up or has a fancy you fold, and this design is super simple and ever so effective. I have seen it before but it surfaced again recently on the GDP challenge which I follow avidly ( though I seldom get a chance to enter despite my best intentions). This is a simple card which folds flat for postage, and I will have a whole stash of them at the Rockhampton Handmade Expo Markets markets next week . I will also be running a class to make this later in the year. Well since I had the inks out, and since I did a few classes with a Card in a Box, and since I am known for not knowing when to stop….. I have a second card for the JAI colour challenge this week. Maybe Orange is not so hard after all. After attempting to put some multicoloured hexagon cards together I went back to the basics! Modern Medley black and vanilla with one other colour still seems to be my favourite. However I didn't have much DSP in the Lucky Limeade tones so I improvised by stamping the Thoughts and Prayers Tree onto cardstock and Clear Embossing it, this gave just enough "lift" to the  hexagon for a feature tile.  for the Island Indigo feature tiles I did some stamping using one of the flowers from the Best of Flowers set.  We made these at my last card class and I had fun finishing off the leftovers. On a few of them I ran the completed piece through the hexagon embossing folder for a bit more texture. Thanks for looking, Liz

        I recently found this gorgeous card on Pinterest here and had to copy it. It was very inspiring. This is my version using some of the gorgeous Watercolour Wonder DSP which is available in the new Summer Mini Catalogue. I just love the blues and greens -and of course I love watercolour so it was fun to play with this.   My base card is Smoky slate 15 x 27c m scored at 4, 10 and 16 cm . The DSP layers are sponged on the edges with Island Indigo. I have used various sentiments and images from Yippee Skippee, Perfect Pennants, Best of Sale-a-Bration, & Petal Parade. I think the little bird is from Everything Eleanor. There are various shapes cut with the Big Shot using the  Pennant Die and Deco Labels Framelits.

 Have just been making a set of cards for my next workshop hostess gift using the Best of Flowers Set. It's such an easy set to use for lots of different looks. have used Midnight Nuse, Raspberry ripple and sahara Sand as the card bases and the in colour set of markers for the inking. Just a simple card with no sentiment, using the best of Flowers Set stamped with Pistachio Pudding and punched out with the 1" square punch, layered on the postage stamp Pistachio layers. Each of the images has a tiny bit of highlighting using the Pool Party marker The DSP is Modern Medley and I have scored a frame on the base white card using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and added highlights with strips of Pistachio Cardstock stamped with Pistachio ink and the Hydrangea stamp for a background effect and a decorative strip of Pool Party cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelits .  A quick card to create, and quite a soothing colour combination, Thanks for looking, Liz

The new "Best of Flowers" Set features the gorgeous Hydrangea stamp though it is a smaller scale than the original. I have had some fun stamping with it. In this card I coloured directly onto the stamp with Soft Sky ink, than added a few highlights using the Wisteria Wonder Stampin' Write marker, and the Gumball Green marker for the leaves. Once stamped I softened the image with the Blender Pen and added a little more Wisteria colour also using the blender pen. The cardstock layers were cut using the Windows Framelits in Soft Sky and Very Vanilla, then I trimmed them down for a more rectangular shape, the green mat is Gumball Green. The Base layer is made using the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder which I inked up with the Soft Sky ink pad before running through the Big Shot - I  think this could be a new favourite colour for me! ( this technique is already a fave) The card is finished with Soft Sky Seam binding and one of the new Very Vintage Designer butt...

Trying very hard to get to play with some new products, only problem is the accumulated samples and trials on my desk, so I am slowly clearing away the pile of unfinished ideas, being very disciplined and finishing each one.  I have had these PoolParty gals on my desk for so long! I love this retired DSP and have teamed it with some Lucky Limeade Cardstock, various ribbon trims,brads, buttons and bows and some embroidery thread. I am quite happy with how they turned out because I have been avoiding them for ages. Each card has a strip of Pool Party C'ordinations cardstock embossed using the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder , which is then trimmed using the Large Scallop Edgelits and then sanded to give the 2 tone effect which I really love.The stamped image is from the Million Dollar Moment s set and it is cut with the Ovals Framelits.  I used different sentiments and embellishments for detail. Two super easy cards using the lattice die and Calypso coral cardstock, using one and a half die cuts on the wedding card - layered onto Sahara Sand cardstock, and the other half on the birthday card. It takes a few simple snips to maintain the curve on the smaller piece. Then you can cover the join with a strip of DSP (from Epic Day series) or ribbon - White Taffeta and some bakers twine. The flowers are fantastic because the daisy from the Best of Flowers Set coordinates perfectly with the 11/4" scallop punch.  The sentiments are a sneak peak from the new Artisan Label shape set.  Oh and of course a bit of Washi Tape (also super easy to use) from the Epic Day series.
