Welcome to the CASEing the Catty bloghop for this week where we are taking inspiration from any of the fabulous projects available in the new Sale-A-Bration catalogue. I wasn't sure where to start so thought I would have a go at one of the kits! I cut up one of the cards to make this cute box The kits come with everything to make a sweet set of 8 notecards.  They don't however, come with the pool party ribbon - I added that in, was well as the enamel dots, and the paper doily( in the two I designed different from the set). I made up half copying the pattern but had a play with some other stamp sets in my collection for  two of the others. Who says Halloween paper has to be for Halloween cards? I recently purchased the Happy Hauntings set because I was intrigued by the orange stripe pattern shown in the catalogue behind one of the cards. I am not normally partial to orange but I am challenging myself. A few of the pages are specifically "Haunting"  types but most are just dots, stars, stripes and geometric patterns. Easy to use. We will be making two of these little Envelope Notecards in my class this weekend (and next Thursday). I still have a few spots if you would like to join in. Just get in touch with me. The card uses the envelope punch board and closes with a belly band. They are easy and different and you can make a few at a time. As you can see they are all different and quite versatile. Welcome back to this week's CTC bloghop, using the new In Colours for inspiration this week. You may have arrived from Julia's beautiful blog, she has such amazing work. I love the new colours but haven't managed to combine them all together successfully, so this week I have 2 cards using different colour combinations. Last week's Artistic Expresssion catalogue section had so many cards for inspiration so I have used a few of them for the card layouts. The first uses the Striped Scallop Thinlits card on page 117 Rebecca CASEd this card last week and it was gorgeous! You have probably come from the fabulous Helen's post, she always makes something inspirational. This week's challenge is to create something taking inspiration from the Project Life section of the catalogue. The idea is to take inspiration from anything- a colour combination, a layout, an element.... I haven't ventured into the world of project life scrapbooking (or any scrapbooking really!), so it was a challenge to find somewhere to start, but I do have a love for squares at the moment, and for geometry, so I was struck by the page layout  on the bottom right of the photo on page 54- the one with 3 squares down the middle. It's perhaps easier to see it from the image of the Variety Pack on page 145. The first of my card classes for this year will be next weekend, and after wondering where to start I think a butterfly theme is calling me.  So this is a sample of the type of thing we will be making. 19/02 Edit to post. Well I'm so amazed but this card has been on the Leaderboard on Stampin Connection and was the top sample for a while. I am touched. And after requests for details I am adding those here. The card base is Soft Sky , as is the ring which I cut using 2 different sizes of the Circles Thinlits . The layers of Cardstock are Sahara Sand and Naturals White. I stamped images on the Naturals White  Cardstock first using Soft Sky and Sahara Sand from the Kinda Eclectic set, and also with the Dictionary background stamp. I then ran this piece through the big shot using the Lovely Lace Embossing folde r ( which I love).  Using the butterflies thinlits I cut the lacy butterfly from Sahara Sand and sponged the edges of this using soft sky, (and I thi...

Daffodil Delight, Petite Petals Punch, Itty bitty Accents Punch Meadow Moss, Blackberry Bliss, Best of Flowers Stampset and Scallop circle Punch, Bitty Accents Punch, Venetain romance DSP Found a groovy little box by SU demonstrator Sam Donald from Pootles.co.uk. She makes a myriad of boxes and I have tried quite a few. This one caught my eye and I made several for the markets, and we did this design in class this weekend. I have used several different sets of DSP and matching cardstock rather than stamp the cards, and I have altered some of the measurements to make it easier (for me) for cutting out. The boxes and lid measures are unchanged . Box 7 3/16" square, score at 2" on each side, Lid 6 1/4" square, score at 1 1/2" on each side, However for the card fronts I used: Mat 2 3/4"' square, DSP 2 1/2" square, and for the lid Mat 3" square, DSP 2 3/4" square. I have been playing with the Scallop Tag Topper punch- which I love - and found some inspiring pictures on Pinterest (Of course!!). I quite like the Love card made byLeanne Pugliese here  at Wee Inklings, so i have made one too. I have used Early Espresso Cardstock and ink,  and Tangerine Tango ink, with DSP from the Venetian Romance set. I can't believe it has taken me nearly a whole year to get some of this paper, it's so beautiful, and now it is going to retire in only a few weeks. You can order your set from my online store. I don't have any current large alphabet stamps but the Lovely Letters seemed perfect.I have also used Petite Petals stamp and Punch, Simply Sketched Hostess set( also about to retire), sentiment from One in a Million (also on the goodbye list) as well a a very old sentiment from a forgotten set. I am also quite happy with my rolled newsprint roses. Now I need to make a box to fit it in, but that will be easy with my Envelope Punch Board ...
