More Jars of Love with Embossed Lace using tone on tone techniques -a CASE of a CASE of myself!!

I made these jars cards very early on when I first opened the Delicate Details lace set. I loved the lace designs but I also thought that the straight and swirly lines image in that set could also double for the bumpy base you see around the bottom of some old glass jars and bottles, and even the ridges for the screw top lids.  I was also busy creating samples for a display for our stamping retreat and wanted to show off the brilliant bright current In-colours by using some tone on tone sponging to create depth and increase the brightness of plain cardstock shapes.  This is a technique I love to use and I did it last year with the teacups. (there's a sample and the link at the end of this page) Jar of Love is a fabulous set, but the little love heart and thankyou are super cute too - you'll find them in the Lift Me Up bundle You can find the post with the teacups here - I As you can see I have CASEd myself!  - which is totally Ok because I sti...

CTC#76 Have a Cuppa for Mum

Hello and welcome back for this weeks projects. You can find all the CTC blog participants here Pages 34-36 have some sweet projects made using the fabulous Have a Cuppa set  and matching framelits which I resisted buying initially. This is the project we made for mother's Day at March Class. I have CASED the Wisteria Wonder layout of the card at the right of this picture on page 34. For the Class we made one of these fabulous self closing boxes which holds a little selection of tea bags, and the card coordinates for a sweet little Mother's Day Gift.  The teapot sits on a vellum circle, but I needed to layer a patterned vellum over the Vellum cardstock as it needed the extra firmness to be stable. I used the Circles framelits to cut the ring frame from the Shine On Kraft DSP . - this frame hides the glue dots which hold the 2 layers of vellum together. the cute floral Paper is from the Love Blossoms DSP paper stack. Watermelon Wonder does look very bright in th...

If you get lost you can find the team at the CTC page HERE Luckily the Timelss Textures set is also in this section and I love all the great looks you can achieve with it so I had a bit of fun playing. I took inspiration from two cards on the top left of page 29 I heat embossed the cup with white embossing powder and sponged the Mint Macaron over. The timeless textures underneath has been embossed with clear powder,an cut the teaspoon out of silver foil. For the second card I used both the timeless textures and an old favourite- Flower Shop in Rose Red which looks more obvious...
