Showing posts with the label Sponged Mask Embossing Technique

CTC#241 a Layout challenge

I love a layout challenge, actually I love a colour challenge, a theme challenge, a word challenge...... but today I have enjoyed CASEing the layout on the top right of page 101. Welcome to this week's bloghop, I hope you can create a card from any of the 4 layouts on page 101 and join us on the Facebook page. The layout has a full panel of texture for the card front, a feature label with an image laying on top of it at the 2/3 level , some thread, a sentiment flag and some bling.  I am including a sneak peak here- one of the 4 beautiful new masks coming in the Christmas Catalogue, it's gorgeous. I used an old favourite technique where I sponge colour using the mask then add white embossing paste over- it picks up the residual colour on the mask and creates a beautiful soft colour. ( I've done this technique a lot over the years, you can see some other samples here ) I'm short on time this week so decided to let the paper do all the hard work ...

PLAYING WITH SOME LOVELY NEW PRODUCTS!

Welcome back, This is a long post so grab a cuppa and enjoy! I have all sorts of goodies to share. Although it's perilously close to Christmas and I'm behind the timeline for making all those things I had planned - I have been having fun playing with some of the gorgeous new products coming up in the new catalogue available January 3. I needed a few (Non Christmas) gifts sorted so thought I would showcase them all in one place. I am focusing on the Sweet Soiree stamp set which I picked as a prize at the end of Onstage. The coordinating Sweet Soiree DSP is gorgeous with silver foiling on most pages. The colour palette is quite broad too. The DSP is slightly heavier than ordinary cardstock so it's perfect for making boxes, bags and party favours. By making all these projects in the one colour palette I have saved a little time. Colour INKspiration #14 Pocket Slider Card with such a Stylish combo

Welcome back for another week of Colour INKspiration. The colours this week are just gorgeous. Once you get them together they are lovely to play with. I'm so pleased with how this card turned out. I had no idea what to make looking at the photo but when I got the ink and paper together I had a little brainwave! Hope you like this card. It is for a swap I'm participating in and the instructions for making the Pocket Slider were sent to me as part of the swap. It seemed a perfect opportunity to challenge myself. I fell in love with the Watts of Occasions stamp set the first time I flicked through the catalogue but I'm yet to put it through its paces properly. The inspiration picture makes me want those boots but I'm a practical person and they aren't really practical in Central Qld. I heat embossed the image in Silver and used my aquapainter to colour the bulb and the border, and then some wink of stella over the top. I have very few pieces of Rich ...

CI#12,Rows of colour and texture

Welcome back for another round of Colour INKspiration. The groovy photo #12 for inspiration this week has so many elements- texture, stitching, loads of colour, geometric patterns, stripes sheep, trees, waves, balls, timber....it was too much for me initially.  I love all the elements but having to choose a few was hard for me. .. or even a starting point! So I have been avoiding trying to create from this picture until tonight when I went for a long walk and the gorgeous sunset colours spoke to me.  Deep blue and purple at the horizon, golden peach at the lower end of the sky, reflecting off the buildings with a beautiful glow, stretching up to gentle pink and a soft blue at the "top" of the sky. I knew then what colours I would use. Night of Navy Elegant Eggplant Peekaboo Peach Flirty Flamingo I took a panel of shimmery white card and wet it with my aquapainter then painted stripes of the navy and eggplant and let the water m...
