Lillybet's Papers

I have recently made an accordion album as a farewell gift and had lots of scraps left over- perfect for both the Just Add Ink#559 and the GDP#296 challenges this week. I don't like throwing away beautiful paper and this is a perfect way to utilise and show off all those gorgeous patterns. I  adhere all the strips to a base piece of scrap card then trim it to size and for added depth run it through an embossing folder which helps to keep the small pieces bonded to the base, and makes it feel like it is supposed to be a single element. The Stitched Greenery die is a new toy and I love it.  The sentiment was from my useful box on the desk and the vellum element is from a retired kit, it adds just the right amount of subtleness as a background and makes me feel good for using up leftovers. Do you get the same sense of satisfaction when that happens? Love the silver accent on the vellum and the amazing detail in the stitched leaves. Definitely a quick and easy card (my favourite)...

I confess I own a little bit of DSP!! So I occasionally force myself to use some! I have to convince myself that it's ok to cut it! (#loveitchopit!) But it's so nice when a new product makes you reinvent an old product. The foil Frenzy DSP comes in four colours - Berry, Tangerine, Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist. I'm so pleased to say that the Lemon Lime is a vibrant lime colour and seems to tone very nicely with Old Olive and with Pear Pizazz. It's a versatile colour. I tried it with some of the Pretty Petals (retired) paper which has quite a lot of old olive, and was pleasantly surprised at how well they go together. I created a quick set of thankyou cards using the layout from Case This Sketch #234. I added a small loop of the shimmery ribbon, some baker's twine and a leaf stamped and punched using the COMING Painted Harvest stamp set and matching leaf punch. It's gorgeous! These are some of the Christmas Decorations I have made for the Handmade Expo Markets this weekend. They are obviously not all Stamping' Up! products for the jute twine, the baubles and some of the ribbon and bling, but I was really happy to be able to use up quite a few retired SU items which I have been hoarding!! And I am totally in love with pastels for my home this year but I did make some traditional coloured items and a few in fantastic copper! Sweet Sugarplum Mint Macaron Soft Sky The Mint Macaroon ribbon is just so lovely for tying. The Metal rim tags retired a long time ago but I still have quite a few, so I used some of these. The thread is individual strands from the wide Burlap ribbon (also retired) - it's a bit thicker than the linen thread.
