CTC#143 Artistic Expression- still can't make a decision!

Hello and welcome back for another round of inspiration from this very large section of the catalogue.  I CASEd a lot of the cards in this section before my Catalogue Launch day and I know I haven't shown you all of them. So this week I have two different samples which I have CASE'd from this section The first is the gorgeous BIRDS on page 139. The blue version using DSP from the Delightful Daisy DSP and the birds framelits, and the branch from the Colourful Seasons thinlits makes an easy card to put together. The second version is more like the catalogue sample and uses the frond image from Ready to Pop. This lovely sentiment is from Dragonfly Dreams The second pair of cards use 2 of the current in colours and are a direct CASE of the butterfly card on page 134 which I knew I would copy as soon as I saw it the first time I flipped through the catalogue!. This lovely sentiment is from Colourful Seasons. There's such a lot of inspiration im...

Embossing Paste Background for any occasion and JAI#373

At the embossing paste class on the weekend I demonstrated how to use 2 different colours of paste and blend them together over the stencil. For this card I used the inkpad to stamp a generous amount of colour onto the silicone sheet and mixed the paste directly into this. I didn't use reinker drops as the colour is a bit unpredictable. This way you can add as much or as little colour as you like, picking it up from your inked area on the silicone. I used Berry Burst and Peekaboo Peach and spread them over the mask from opposite sides. I was very keen to use some of the stunning soft crinkle ribbon which I acquired last week! This card is created directly onto Sahara Sand cardstock. I love using embossing paste over stamped images, but using it over DSP also produces some lovely effects. It is hard to go past the woodgrain paper. The sentiment stamped under the embossing is from the new Painted HArvest set. This week's challenge over at Stampin' Up!...

CTC#130 Sad Farewell to the Occasions Catalogue

Well all good things come to an end, and this week is the end of the Occasions Catalogue so the team are CASEing it one last time. Many products are continuing but some just have to go. So I'm using the Urban Underground DSP before it's gone, and Kraft cardstock which I REALLY am going to miss, and an old tool - the alphabet rotary stamp since I don't yet own a small alphabet stamp to create my own sentiments. But I have also chosen the Gorgeous Dragonfly Dreams set which is continuing and some new ribbon coming next week - the mini chevron ribbon. I love quite a lot of projects in this book but I am very short on time this week so opted for a card that looked quite quick and easy, as well as packing a punch with its simplicity. The card on page 44, bottom right - how easy is a few strips of paper? And there are so many gorgeous patterns of DSP you could make this card a million ways and each one would look unique. The first sample follows the catalogue la...
