Welcome back for the Colour INKspiration colour challenge #03. This week's colours are based on this cute tile seaside pic that Bronwyn chose I have to say I struggled with these colours for a while, and I tried several different approaches. In the end I was inspired by the tiles and the pattern made in putting them together. I also loved the Raised accents in Solid White . So I revisited an old scrapbook of mine with some old layouts which I have admired along the way, and found several of them I liked using tiled layouts of inchies etc. In the end I watercolored two pieces of watercolour paper using Marina Mist, Peekaboo Peach and Soft Sky, drying the paper between each colour so they didn't just bleed together in a brown mess!   I cut them randomly into several squares using the stitched framelits(not the tiny one-the next one up) Then I decorated each one with some subtle stamping using either Soft Suede or using tone on tone stamping using Timeless T...

Hello again for out last hop for the year. And what a busy time it's been. This week we are profiling something inspired by any image in the catalogue. I have been surprised by how easy it is to use the Kraft Tag a Bags and the Petite Cafe Bags, but when I first got them I wasn't sure what to do with them. There are plenty of pictures in the catalogues to use for inspiration.pages 37, 42, 44, 56, 58, 64, 93, 95, 104,109 are only some of the pages with inspiration on them. You can stamp on the bags, add paper, stamped images, cutouts lace, doilies, acetate....anything you can think of. Since we are all in a hurry to get everything finished at this time of year I was able to quickly wrap my baking gifts for our staff Christmas bake swap. It's a great idea where we each bake our Christmas specialty and swap plates or parcels so we each end up with a whole lot of different handmade goodies. These are pretty simple because I was pushed for time ( who would have thought???!...

Welcome back to this weeks Sunday night CASEing the CATTY bloghop. This week we are looking at Love & Sympathy cards and projects on pages 44-55. I have chosen the cute card on page 54 using the super sweet Weather Together Bundle. Today we did the baby wipe technique in class so I made this card using Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party and Pacific Point inks. The variegation in the colours is a really nice effect and works well with stamps of a medium size.  Although it works best with solid image stamps I was really pleased with this line image version. To create a solid patch of colour to stamp the sentiment stamp I simply used one of the larger stamps from Timeless Texture stamped repeatedly to cover a small area. I really love the script in this set and the "Thanks" had gone unnoticed until today but I love it I used a scrap of the retired Kraft and Silver DSP  which already has the raindrops on it  - see if you can spot my mistake...

Well I was so thrilled - and nervous - about being selected as a display Stamper for Onstage. It's quite wonderful but 6 of the dusting team members from CASEing the Catty were selected. Judy May, Kathryn Mangelsdorf, Rebecca Scurr, Julia Quin, Jess Williams and myself. We all received different products to use. I was lucky enough to be sent all the new colours and 2 new stampsets to play with. I just love the new colours so here are the first lot of photos of cards I made. These use a returning stamp - the wonderful Dahlia. There are not too many background stamps in my collection which are returning so I started with this image for a full colour coverage. Dapper Denim - such a fabulous blue. I love it. Peekaboo Peach - teams beautifully with Pumpkin Pie too Emerald Envy Flirty Flamingo And for some reason I don't have one of Sweet Sugarplum on it's own so here it is teamed with a three tone version. I think the Flamingo, Peach and Sugarplum together ...
