CI# 204 Boxed set of "Fragrant Layers" Cards for Gifting

How nice to be back crafting and creating cards to give away. I love to give handmade cards as gifts so that a handwritten note can be an easy task. I'm working on rebuilding my collection of finished sets. The new Fragrant Layers stamp and die bundle are just gorgeous so these cards came together quite quickly, and I created a box to put them in for easy gift giving. This week's colour combination is so soft and fresh. Picture credit -  https://sugareuphoria.com/french-impressionist-inspiration/ I am also trying very hard to use up some of the kits and sets that I have collected over the years including this set of blank These Memories and More cards and envelopes. It just happens that the Colours- Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party match the tones of this week's challenge colours. I've had fun watercolouring the floral spray with both pink tones and layering it under the diecut window. The die cuts the little window from the card, I have layered the flowers behind and then ...

GOING BACKWARDS TO GO FORWARDS, CI#187 Welcoming the NEW In Colours 2025-2027

As part of my post renovation TIDY UP, I am finally finishing some old blog posts and sharing them with you -  I am calling it my  "Going Backwards to Go Forwards"  process. I hope you get a little bit of motivation and inspiration from these recent samples which I created and then forgot! I am keen to share them with you so I can start afresh. Way back in MAY 2025, the current batch of IN Colours was released. Colour INKspiration #187 was all about using the new colours. I created this set of cards using Basic Beige as my base and 4 of the colours  Strawberry Slush Secret Sea Cloud Cover Timid Tiger (I still can't get my head around Darling Duckling)! These are all a similar layout and use the fabulous Textured Notes Stampset and Bright Borders Stampset ( which is sadly on the Last Chance list at a reduced price ) nnd the coordinating To the Point Punch. It's nice to create a set that can be given as a gift. I don't believe that they all need to be the same, I ...

Techniques with White Pigment Ink - Direct Stamping

Continuing on with my Technique series....  There are several great techniques using White Pigment Ink. At a recent event I demonstrated a few of them including:     * Direct stamping with White onto coloured cardstock     *Offset stamping     *Bokeh technique     *Painting with White Ink     *Emboss Resist It has taken me a while to share these samples, I'll post them over a few days. I hope you give some of these techniques a try. White ink and a Line Image look great on dark coloured cardstock.  Here's a few samples showing the different effects on different colours. Pretty Peacock, Night of Navy, Gray Granite, and Pebbled Path. For each one I have embossed the piece of DSP with an embossing folder, I have cut the circles using the fabulous Spotlight on Nature Dies , and I have used the teacup from Everyday Details . A little piece of coordinating glimmer, some ribbon and some twine, all attached underthe sentiment usi...

Colour and Contour with the new In Colours 2023-2025

Introducing the new In Colours for 2023 - 2025 I have used the same layout for each of these but changed the focus colour for each.  Pebbled Path is one of the new colours and I see this as a fabulous base card. It pairs beautifully with Gray Granite. Let me know which is your favourite. Boho Blue Wild Wheat It's quite different when you start to use it, with a somewhat olive tone. Not my natural favourite but I see it has potential. Pebbled Path the inside of each was decorated with another embossed strip Copper Clay Surprisingly warm and inviting. I am looking forward to using this one. Moody Mauve Lost lagoon is the green in each of these samples. I look forward to playing with all of these, new colours are invigorating! Here's what I used to create these.
