Paper Patchwork Framed Art

I have been creating a few paper patchwork art pieces and just LOVE the Hexagon punch. I used the Calendar Papers that were available in last years Christmas mini catalogue. They are all gorgeous patterns and just looked like a patchwork to me! This is a selection of random patches glued to cover a card base, then I have run the entire piece through the Bigshot with an embossing folder to give it that depth of texture and make it look like a fabric patchwork . The white mat frame was too stark so I have sponged this with some River Rock ink to age the look and soften the feel. All the embellisments are Stampin' Up! with the exception of the pearl hatpin and the yellow paper rose. Regals buttons, Natural buttons, Crystal Buttons, Little Leaves Sizzlit, Seam Binding Ribbon, Tea Time Trinkets, Linen Thread, Butterfly Punch, HEarts sizzles etc I love buttons and trinkets and had fun putting this together. Sorry about the photography - not my best skill. I have quite afew m...

We'll all Have Tea

I have had lots of fun creating a card to send to a distant friend - the verse I like says- "I wish that I could be with you and share a cup of tea, but since I can't do that right now please have this one on Me", so you can include a teabag. I have used up lots of old bits and pieces and some new items- the Very vintage Designer Buttons are new, and so is the Island Indigo 3/4" Chevron Ribbon. But the ribbon was too wide for this project so I cut it in half and then sealed the edges with a flame. Tricky but successful! Existing items include the Perfect Pennant Bigz L Die, the Honeycomb Embossing Folder, The Delicate Designs EF,  and the Adhesive Lace Tape .  The retired items include the polka dot  In colour Brads,  and the Tea for Two DSP. The good news is that the we can still get the same design DSP but in a new  Colour Palette - it's called Afternoon Picnic .  The beautiful image of the roses in the teapot is now available too in a new...

Lucky Limeade Retiring Colour with Million Dollar Moments

Trying very hard to get to play with some new products, only problem is the accumulated samples and trials on my desk, so I am slowly clearing away the pile of unfinished ideas, being very disciplined and finishing each one.  I have had these PoolParty gals on my desk for so long! I love this retired DSP and have teamed it with some Lucky Limeade Cardstock, various ribbon trims, brads, buttons and bows and some embroidery thread. I am quite happy with how they turned out because I have been avoiding them for ages. Each card has a strip of Pool Party C'ordinations cardstock embossed using the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder , which is then trimmed using the Large Scallop Edgelits and then sanded to give the 2 tone effect which I really love. The stamped image is from the Million Dollar Moment s set and it is cut with the Ovals Framelits.  I used different sentiments and embellishments for detail. The hearts and the umbrella have little highlights using...
