Lillybet's Papers

I was inspired by the card on page 84 of the catalogue where they have stamped and heat embossed quite a solid image multiple times to create a background panel.  Then put the sentiment on a banner over the top of the panel. This would have been my post for CASEing the Catty#92 if I'd had time to get organised!! This was my take using a line image instead. The gorgeous flower is from Penned and Painted. I stamped onto Kraft and painted the flowers using sponge dauber and White Craft Ink., and painted the leaves with an aqua painter and Emerald Envy. This is the catalogue sample. Then I tried the same idea with a more solid stamped image. I do love the leaf from Kinda Eclectic. Thanks for looking, Liz

The new in colours are so pretty and the colour challenge at PPA this week is just perfect for a special birthday card I need for today. I have made another magic window card and will post a tutorial with the CASEing the Catty card this Sunday (August 14). I have made lots of these in the past and you can see some more samples here. The card is closed with a belly band and as you open the card the sliding mechanism opens to reveal the message in the window. Detail of the cluster on the belly band. As you open the gate fold The little cluster of flowers is made using swirly bird, and the leaf spray is fussy cut from the DSP sheet from the Fruit Stand collection. The sliding mechanism slowly opening. I coloured the White glimmer paper numbers using a sponge dauber and the Flirty Flamingo ink. Welcome back for another week of great inspiration projects from the Catalogue. This week we are CASEing the Shine On section of the Occasions Catalogue form pages 30 -33. Welcome from Julia's blog,what lovely tags she has created. It's not a big section and at first glance it appears to not have too many options for CASEing. There are quite a few items in this section that I would love to own, but being realistic and trying to purchase sensibly they kept slipping down the priority list. One item that I definitely did purchase was the Shine On DSP. It is simply gorgeous and the photos don't really do it justice.  You need to hold this beauty in your hands to appreciate how gorgeous and shiny it is. I have made quite a few projects using it and they have all been very striking. The colours against the kraft are very strong, but the silver is absolutely beautiful. Welcome back for this week's colour challenge at The Colour Tree Challenge #11.  It's a gorgeous colour combo and I had a lot of fun watercoloring with these beauties. This week I have used the sketch design from CAS(e) this sketch. The watercolored panel looked so pretty I didn't want much to cover it over so a simple sentiment was all it needed, and the CAS(e)this sketch layout #164 was perfect for that. I heat embossed the Birthday greeting onto velum and wrapped that panel around the base piece. The little flowers are punched from a separate spare watercoloured piece, and they hold the twine in place with glue dots. My crafting would be lost without those handy dots. And on the inside- from the fabulous Endless Birthday wishes, just a  little colouring with a blender pen- so simple. Hello again, the Colour combination at The Colour Tree had me struggling at first, but once I started playing with the colours I really enjoyed using them. I have always loved the Turquoise but I was daunted by the Gold. That's the beauty of Challenges - they get you thinking! I'm also linking up with the CAS(E) this sketch#160.   The gift bag (top, right) inspiration from the SAB catalogue. In the end it's essentially a monochrome card with some Gold highlights - a few gold sequins and the fabulous Gold Washi tape on the peg. (though they don't show up very well in the photo) The Washi is from the Sale-a-Bration specials on at the moment, as is the gorgeous Pedal Pusher Stamp.
