I received a gorgeous Thankyou card a while ago by the very talented Angela Meiritz-Reid in New Zealand. ( fromt eh CASEing the CAtty Design Team). I loved the layout she used to show off this stunning sheet of DSP from the Sweet Soiree set which is retiring soon. I needed a stack of thankyou cards so I have gratefully CASED Angela. I had quite a few partial kits in my stash and have used up some of those tags for the sentiments as well as current and retired ribbon and finished off some spools of embroidery thread. A very satisfying stash of cards all round. I do try to use up retiring paper - but if you looked at my boxes you would not say I was successful at it! The feature panel is 31/2" x 51/4" The behind panel is 3 3/4" x 51/2" or whatever size panels you can create from your pieces. Welcome to the second Colour INKspiration bloghop for 2018. School is back and the pace is about to ramp up again.... which is why making time to be creative is so important. I'd be lost without my craft time, and I am truly grateful I get the opportunity. (Thankyou to my very tolerant and generous husband).  If I can combine creativity with a job on my to do list so much the better. It's one of my sister's birthdays this week and she loves cards that move. So making this card for her was a perfect opportunity to combine tasks. Her beautiful cards are very intricate with lots of interlocking movable pieces, but my style is quite different. So while they are gorgeous marine colours this week I have stuck with flowers for now. I won this set at Onstage which was great because it would not have been at the top of my wishlist, but I have to say I am loving the Cake Soiree set much more than I anticipated. This week we are showcasing pretty projects inspired by the Sweet Soiree Suite- what a tongue twister. For this week's CASE I wanted to make something easy to show off the beautiful elements in the Embellishment Kit. It has loads of gorgeous diecuts of the flowers,  some single roses, 3 cakes,a few pages of  lovely silver and vellum leaves and floral sprays which are very easy to add to cards. There are also mini white pegs, some paper tassels, a roll of mini silver washi and some blue velvet scalloped ribbon. I CASEd the layout from the card in the top right box on page 12 of the Occasions catalogue. Using the notecards and envelopes is a wonderful timesaver as they are prescored and ready to decorate. I used my (current) favourite embossing folder to add some detail to the lower third of the crumb cake panel,  added a strip of the mini washi, looped some metallic black thread and then popped the diecut up as the feature. Who can resist a rose? I do love the little roses in the Cake Soiree set and I have been having fun with the rose mask as well, so it seemed a perfect opportunity to make the same card using the GDP colours. I'll share a tip on using the mask next week so make sure you are signed up to follow me by email - see the rainbow boxes on the right panel of this page. The peace rose is a yellow/peach with dark pink tips on the petals - so a 2 tone rose is certainly a real thing. I thought the colour challenge this week would work well for Roses. I have never used Bermuda Bay as a leaf colour before - but challenges are all about - well .. challenging yourself. I'm happy to say that I quite like it as a leaf colour and that I may just try it some more soon. I used the baby wipe technique to stamp the little roses. Welcome back, This is a long post so grab a cuppa and enjoy! I have all sorts of goodies to share. Although it's perilously close to Christmas and I'm behind the timeline for making all those things I had planned - I have been having fun playing with some of the gorgeous new products coming up in the new catalogue available January 3. I needed a few (Non Christmas) gifts sorted so thought I would showcase them all in one place. I am focusing on the Sweet Soiree stamp set which I picked as a prize at the end of Onstage. The coordinating Sweet Soiree DSP is gorgeous with silver foiling on most pages. The colour palette is quite broad too. The DSP is slightly heavier than ordinary cardstock so it's perfect for making boxes, bags and party favours. By making all these projects in the one colour palette I have saved a little time.
