Square Twisted Easel - Lavender Card Class February 24

At my recent Card Class for February 2024, we used the gorgeous papers from the Perennial Lavender suite. The papers are so pretty. They really lend themselves to being the star of the show, with minimal embellishment needed. And with this large (5 1/2" square) card you get to see a large piece of the beautiful designs. This square Easel card is a real eye catcher. I had the incorrect measurements on the slide at the class (oops!) - but I've corrected it now to the above. Sorry for those people who photographed the slide with the error Cardstock is                          5 1/2" x 11, scored at 5 1/2", and the diagonal fold line DSP x2 patterned pieces cut at 5 1/4" square  ( not 5 7/8" - that was the squash fold card ) White cardstock x1           cut at 5 1/4" square. Once I had made one I did get on a bit of a roll and so there are more samples coming in the next few days! I...

Lovely Layout #2, Easel card for Christmas

We were focusing on Fancy Folds for the recent Christmas card class and I used the same Lovely Layout #2 ( see this post ) but switched to the Joy of Christmas paper  and changed it to an easel card. I chose the Sweet Sorbet cardstock for a fresh take on the traditional Christmas red and green palette. This great layout uses 2 pieces of DSP - one 3 x 3 inches and one 4 x 2 inches. You can alternate which piece is forward and which is behind depending on the pattern on each piece and which one looks best as the feature. Add a stamped sentiment and a feature element to finish off your layout. I cut some gorgeous pine fronds and some holly leaves from some "painted" green paper in my stash. The holly leaves were cut from a sheet of watercolour paper which I coloured with both Shaded Spruce and Old Olive. I used the Magical Meadows dies . - it has quite a sharp holly leaf.  I also really love the stylised leaf and berry frond from the Sweet Sorbet ombre glimmer paper - so lusci...

CI#145 Gorgeously Made Easel Card

It's time for another play with some Colour INKspiration colours.  These are certainly vibrant and eye-catching together. I don't have Lemon Lime Twist - I must be one of the few demos who doesn't love it! Instead I have used Parakeet Party which is similar tone but more vibrant. I have created an easel card for  this project- one of my favourite card styles and you can see plenty on my page of Fancy Fold instructions above. (in the heading tabs across the top of the page it's the far right) https://shopperboard.com/Ocean/product/22186917 I have used the fabulous Gorgeously Made stampset and dies which is becoming a firm favourite for me. You can see some other cards we made in class recently here. I love how easily you can layer the images over each other for a quick artsy look, and the inside and envelope are easy to quickly dress up with your second and third generation stamping after you stamp the front of the card. I stamped the images then ran the whole piece thr...

What's cookin'? Kitchen scene #3 Burleigh Inspired

I love the What's Cookin'? bundle and it is one of the sets on sale for March at 20% discount along with the Mini Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine. I have made lots of kitchen scenes with this great set and this one is inspired by the Blue and White China in my kitchen.  ( none of it is authentic Burleigh China but that's ok!)  I wanted to have a blue and white patterned china bowl and was surprised how well the bowl stamped onto some Boho Indigo floral paper. ( This is retired but the principal would work on any small print DSP). I stamped it in Misty Moonlight and heat embossed the bowl with clear powder to add a bit of shine to the bowl. I tried this on a few of the different papers but the blue on blue stamping worked the best. I also used a retired set - Seasoned with Kindness for the potted herbs on the bench, and the little jug is from Welcoming Window. ( this is another bundle which is on sale and is compatible with the Mini Machine )  This is an easel card so it...

Merriest Moments Stepped up version for an Easel card

Following on from yesterday's card this is a slightly stepped up version - the leaves are embossed in silver and the dots are stamped in Sahara Sand. A little touch of ribbon - I love to cut the ribbon in half to give a much narrower bow- it's soft and delicate. This is converted to an Easel card.   To create an Easel card simply score 3cm (1 inch) from the end of the card front. Adhere your full sized card front panel to just the one inch flap. On the inside of the card adhere a strip of DSP and a raised panel which will be the stopper for your card to stand up against. The beauty of the Easel is that if folds flat for posting. I have lots of samples of Easel cards on the page which has all my fancy folds links. You'll find the page on the far left of the banner as indicated below. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Merriest Moments Photopolymer Stamp Set (Engli...
