I'm not a huge fan of Crushed Curry but I enjoyed painting the butterfly with the yellow ink and my Wink of Stella. I did then run it through the 3D Hybrid Embossing Folder and I quite like the sparkle and the detail. I created a card with an Arch Flap for something a little bit different. You can see what I mean as you check out the pictures. It is quite bulky so I used a small velcro dot as a closure which certainly helps. As part of my post renovation TIDY UP, I am finally finishing some old blog posts and sharing them with you -  I am calling it my "Going Backwards to Go Forwards" process. I hope you get a little bit of motivation and inspiration from these recent samples which I created and then forgot! I am keen to share them with you so I can start afresh. The wonderful pre-printed tags and elements make creating this style of card very easy. I used one of the tags to create the sliding lock mechanism, and another to decorate the inside.  The card closed with the tag slider in place to keep it closed. The inside panel is decorated but is hidden behind the sliding lock when it is closed. Lift the flap and there is more cheer inside- just punch out and stick the elements from the DSP paper pack. I am so late sharing these projects as we have been super busy unpacking and setting up at home now that the renovations are finally finished. It feels so nice to be in - and to have my new craft room set up. I feel so very lucky. We created 2 Bay Window cards during this class. You can find the easiest measurements and some other samples on this post from July 26 There were 3 different paper and colour combinations but the measurements and technique was the same for all of them. To create the focal point we stamped and diecut the flowers from Charming Day . I press the inkpad onto a clear block to create a patch of coloured ink, then I pick up this colour with a small paintbrush and then colour the images being sure to leave some white space beside each of the lines to create depth. For a special sparkly effect I painted them using a Wink of Stella as the paint brush. (It doesn't show up very well in the photo but it is lovely). Painting the flowers using a blend of inks was quick and easy, Add a coat of Wink of Stella and it's done. I created this card for a swap using all current products. I've done many Bay Window Cards over the years but thought I would update the instructions for the sake of simplicity. It's an easy and fun card to make. This is a mix of metric and imperial cutting instructions. You can get two cards from one sheet of A4 cardstock - in Australian sizes just cut the A4 into two 10.5cm x 29.8cm  If you are cutting from 12 x 12 (and in this instance I used Two Tone Cardstock which is all 12 x 12) Cut to 4 1/4 x 11 3/4  Scoring measurements are the same for each : Score at 3/8", 2", 3 7/8", 5 1/2", 5 7/8" Two Tone cardstock is not as rigid as regular card so use Thick Basic White for the sentiment mat inside. Cut one at 4 x 4". This adds stability. DSP cut two strips 4' x 1/4" for the narrow edges which frame the piece. DSP use one sheet 6 x ...

Fancy Folds are a bit of a thing for me and we made these at class this week. Everyone's card was slightly different, using different papers. The main thing is to get the patterned paper pieces lined up with the image flowing seamlessly across the page. This way the colours will flow nicely when the card is closed.  The directions are available from my post on 06.06.25 There are no instructions on this page, just lots of samples and different ideas using the same layout and different papers.
