CI#75 what a vibrant and happy colour combination

Oh my goodness what a welcome sight- such a bright and cheerful colour combination, such a happy reprieve from a troubled world! I was so happy to create with these colours, they just made me happy working with them.  It also made me very happy to be working with a stamp set which is just so beautiful. I loved this set as soon as I saw it and it never disappoints, although it hasn't seen much ink lately. I started with some simple rows of colour  by repeat stamping the same image in a single colour- a different leaf for each tone. I actually don't own the Gorgeous Grape stamp pad - I know, gasp, horror! so to improvise I stamped with versamark on Gorgeous Grape cardstock and heat embossed the leaf and the sentiment with clear embossing powder- works a treat. I've stamped each of the leaf elements in their same colour on a separate sheet and cut them out to assemble in a little cluster. The two skeleton leaves got the texture treatment with the aid of a silic...

CI#250 LAYOUT PAGE 46

Hello again and welcome back. This week is a layout challenge from the four cards on page 46, so I have chosen the card on the bottom right. I love timber elements, and I love vellum, and I'm quite keen on square cards so it was an easy pick for me. The catalogue card must be quite small since the timber leaves are not large, but I wanted a full size card so I've scaled it up a little. My finished card is 41/2" square, so I added another background layer. My tips this week: I love vellum wrapped around- it's how I adhere vellum without worrying if any adhesive will show through,  simply use double sided adhesive tape along the edges at the back and fold the vellum strip firmly around the cardstock the twine looped behind the sentiment piece is super easy to apply - I just staple it in place since it will be hidden. This also has the advantage of not adding any height from a knot or bow which will interfere with your postage costs i...

CTC Fabulous Hostess Sets!

Hello and Happy Easter to you. I hope you have had a nice weekend - and not too much chocolate- (Is there even such a thing?) We have 2 of our 3 children home for a few days which is just so nice. This week we are CASEing from the Hostess section of the catalogue. While I haven't used a specific card for my inspiration I thought I would show you a couple of projects which I made for the  Onstage April 2016 when I was lucky enough to be selected as a display stamper. Fabulous Flora is one of the sets that they sent me to trial. I never did get around to writing all of them up !!!  These cards are monotone highlighting Emerald Envy. For the first card I used the fig image but I  only stamped the leaves along the top edges of a whisper white panel and coloured them with my aqua painter. I fussy cut a few extra leaves, curled and mounted them and gave them a wink of Stella treatment! I also used the Scoreboard to add a few details with some straight score...
