Stripes for Just Add Ink and a CASE for GDP#040 - Something old and something new, nothing borrowed but something blue

While this card is made with not all Stampin' Up! products it is a blend of old and new, nothing borrowed but something blue. Next weekend is the Handmade Expo Markets here in Rockhampton and I always like to have a stash of wedding cards. This is one which I think fits the bill for both these challenges. The GDP challenge #040 is to CASE  the Designer and using Shawn de Oliveira's card I have reversed the layout to have the long strip and ribbon accent on the left. I am really glad I purchased the new Falling Flowers and May Flowers bundle. The stamped images are crisp and clear and the framelits are magic. I have heat embossed in white both the leaves and berries onto Naturals White cardstock (wish they'd bring this back), and also one onto some pale DSP which I had left over. Then I coloured the berries with my blender pen using Mint Macaron. The die cut leaves are from the same set of framelits and I used some shimmer white paper which I had watercoloured fo...

Just Add Ink#286 - just add something with 'W'

Well what could be more W - or more Australian - than a Windmill? This is a brand new Die made by an Australian Company and I knew I needed to have it as soon as I saw it. We live in Central Qld, and spent several years in Longreach ( a beautiful place) where the landscape is dotted with plenty of Windmills. On the wide flat plains they make an impressive silhouette at any time of day,  but sunsets are the best.  I use a lot of pieces of vintage maps on my cards and this is the case here. It is not a Central Qld map,but the colours appealed to me to match the Soft Suede and Early Espresso Coredinations   Cardstock which I have used here and sanded a little. The little "hello" is from Teeny Tiny  Sentiments , and Gorgeous Grunge added a little depth to the base piece. My Envelope Punch Board was very handy to make the square envelope to match with some paper from the Venetian Romance pack. I will have some cards like these available at the ne...

Quick set of notecards showing off DSP

I have such a lot of beautiful paper and I tend to hoard it - mostly because I find it hard to cut into a beautiful print! Maybe you are like me? Yet when I make a card using the beautiful paper that makes me happy too, so I have told myself to stop hoarding and start sharing ! I still think that the Venetian Romance DSP is one if the nicest sets I've ever bought and I am pleased to see it at such a good price on the clearance rack. This design is one I saw on Pinterest and gave been waiting to try it.  I did add a few extra details.  I used Gorgeous Grunge   with Island Indigo and Pistachio Pudding to decorate the envelopes and the retired hostess set Because You Care for the sentiment. I love the Kraft card on Soft Suede. The inside has only a strip of DSP to decorate to keep it super simple. This is a thankyou gift for one of the many generous people who helped me raise funds for the Western Qld Drought Appeal at my #creativerelief fundraiser...
