CI#203 a New Year of Creating starting with Blue

Welcome back to a New Year! Hopefully a year full of creativity! Our year started with a busy month away to celebrate a family wedding so I am now enjoying being home for a little while and getting back into the craft room too. Welcome to our  Guest Designer - Verity Pursglove, I can't wait to see what she creates with these beautiful colours.  Today’s picture which has inspired our colour palette was chosen by Colour INKspiration Crew Member, Monica Formosa. Picture credit -  https://thecameronteam.net/2018-home-trend-watch-iridescents-intense-colors/ I love blues so this was a great way to start the year  for me - however it turns out I rarely use Smoky Slate so only had scraps to incorporate into this project. I discovered that many of my stampsets are now on the "Last Chance" list so I wanted to use some of them before they are gone. The Thankful Garden hydrangea was my choice for some Silver heat embossing and then some watercolouring. I tried this techniq...

CTC#213 Floral Romance

Well hello again, and Happy Australia Day to you! We are so fortunate to live in this beautiful land - even if it has been very sunbaked the last few weeks, I hope you are not sweltering too much. I've used nice cool colours this week I decided to add a little touch of Australia this week using some DSP which reminds me of gum leaves for a gift bag to match the card which I created for my sister for her birthday. We are CASEing the Floral Romance section of the catalogue and I was inspired by a card on page 13. For those of you that follow me you won't be surprised that a watercolour image appealed to me! I flipped the image on it's side, and rather than watercolour or use brusho I used some #simplestamping and created the look using the fabulous little waterdrops/bubbles image from the "Beauty Abounds" set also on page 13.  I stamped it randomly to create a pattern graduating from Bermuda Bay, then Mint Macaron, then Garden Green. I used...

Watercolour Holiday Memories

Hello. I have been having fun with the Waterfront Stampset and trying to create a few picture cards inspired by our recent New Zealand cycling holiday..... well late February is still recent for me. These cards have been in progress for a while .... We went to the South Island of New Zealand and cycled the Alps to Ocean trail over 5 days. It was absolutely wonderful and the scenery was glorious. Cyclone Gita caused an unseasonal snow fall on the mountains around Lake Tekapo and the colours were picture postcard everywhere we looked. Truly a holiday to remember.  It's not easy to capture the real colours but I had fun playing. Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo This was 10 of us out of the 14 on the trip. We had jerseys made for Greg's birthday. They were quite a talking point. lunch stop at Lake Omaru   We were riding on trails for almost all of thee trip which was so much less stressful than riding on roads. I am glad this set is carrying over to the n...

A few wedding cards- it's that time of year!

I make quite a lot of wedding cards but they don't always get written about, so I thought I would showcase a little collection of different styles and samples, some using lots of Stampin' Up! Producers, some a little less. Made using a Sheltering Tr ee, and the mini flower punch. Irresistibly Yours DS P paper and Expressions Naturals Elements Ellen Hutson flower dies,  Expressions Naturals Elements , text Rmbossing Folder Made using the Striped Scallops Thinlits Die and layering 2 sheets on top of each other. Using Hello Doily, and a card and box made from Kraft cardstock. I used the Envelope Punchn Board and the great Box Wizard from A Crafty Owl to get the perfect dimension so that the box was deep enough to not squash the little cluster of flowers (and bits and bobs). It's a shame they don't still make the Mr & Mrs stamp I do love the Lattice Die , Well there are quite a few more ...
