Well hello again, and Happy Australia Day to you!
We are so fortunate to live in this beautiful land - even if it has been very sunbaked the last few weeks, I hope you are not sweltering too much. I've used nice cool colours this week
I decided to add a little touch of Australia this week using some DSP which reminds me of gum leaves for a gift bag to match the card which I created for my sister for her birthday.
We are CASEing the Floral Romance section of the catalogue
and I was inspired by a card on page 13.
For those of you that follow me you won't be surprised that a watercolour image appealed to me!

For those of you that follow me you won't be surprised that a watercolour image appealed to me!
I flipped the image on it's side, and rather than watercolour or use brusho I used some #simplestamping and created the look using the fabulous little waterdrops/bubbles image from the "Beauty Abounds" set also on page 13.
I stamped it randomly to create a pattern graduating from Bermuda Bay, then Mint Macaron, then Garden Green. I used shimmery white card and once finished I lightly spritzed it with a tiny mist of water.
I thought it needed just a little accent so the white glimmer hearts were perfect. The sentiment is from another new set which I won at Onstage (so glad for my golden ticket!!), and I used the layer of vellum as in the inspiration card under the sentiment panel
I repeated the same stamping as a border on the inside panel.
The cute little gift bag is one we'll be making in class soon, it's a design I've done often and is super sweet.
I had a trial piece of ombre sponging using the same colours (which was where I started) from the first version, so I cut the detailed heart from that piece and simply layered it on a double layer of vellum for a tag.
It uses just one piece of DSP 6 x 6 inches., and any sort of scrap for a flap. Or you can just tie it closed or seal with a bulldog clip, or fold the top over.
Adhere the long edge onto the flap and fold the base flaps in to form a box base.
You'll find some other samples in this post from June 14 2017 here.
Next on the hop this week is Tina who is in South Australia. I'm sure staying in the Air Con and crafting would have been a good idea in SA this week.
And don't forget we love to see your creations too. Take a photo of your project inspired by any of the projects or products in pages 10-13 and post it to our Facebook page.
I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz
