Hello again and welcome for another week of CASEing the Catty. ( Number #170 can you beleive that?)  I have been inspired by a sketch layout on page 28 of the catalogue this week - I'm on a mission to use up some of the lovely papers I have so I always study the catalogue for layouts that help me. I have also been inspired a post on the Stampin' Up! page recently by Rhoda MacPherson, one of the Artisan Design Team Members of 2018. Hi there, today I wanted to share a quick tip with using the Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP(144125). This is a heavy weigth kraft card with foil designs printed on the paper - random spots, stripes and a chevron pattern. You get 4 colours in the pack - Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Tangerine Tango and Soft Sky. I love the kraft card but did you know you can sponge and stamp on the card to change the kraft colour? too easy and such a great effect. I am not a huge fan of Lemon Lime Twist (I know, I'm in a minority) but I wanted to participate in the Just Add Ink challenge and my friend Lou Kitzelman on the design team commented on one of my other posts that she hoped I would come to love this colour so I have given it another shot!!  I don't love it on its own but it is quite gorgeous combined with Tranquil Tide, so I have watercoloured a strip using both, and stamped the leaves from Painted Harvest using both and then I took a strip of the Foil DSP and whacked the inkpad down t...

I confess I own a little bit of DSP!! So I occasionally force myself to use some! I have to convince myself that it's ok to cut it! (#loveitchopit!) But it's so nice when a new product makes you reinvent an old product. The foil Frenzy DSP comes in four colours - Berry, Tangerine, Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist. I'm so pleased to say that the Lemon Lime is a vibrant lime colour and seems to tone very nicely with Old Olive and with Pear Pizazz. It's a versatile colour. I tried it with some of the Pretty Petals (retired) paper which has quite a lot of old olive, and was pleasantly surprised at how well they go together. I created a quick set of thankyou cards using the layout from Case This Sketch #234. I added a small loop of the shimmery ribbon, some baker's twine and a leaf stamped and punched using the COMING Painted Harvest stamp set and matching leaf punch. It's gorgeous! Welcome back again CASEing the birthday section of the Annual Catalogue. There are a lot of samples in these pages which can make it hard to find a starting point. I settled on the beautiful sparkling images on the Foil Frenzy page. I love kraft cardstock and was disappointed when it was discontinued in the 12 x 12 pages, but these sparkling pieces are just lovely. There are 3 different designs- random spots, stripes, and an all-over chevron. There are 4 colours and you get one sheet of each pattern in each colour. Berry Burst, Tangerine, Lemon- Lime and Pool Party. I took inspiration from a few different elements on this page- primarily the matching coloured bow from the central box and the circle element in the centre of the box bottom left. I was having fun playing with the embossing paste preparing for a class and created this card using a retired mask and the paste in its natural colour, and while it was wet I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the paste.
