Using Layering Leaves I loved exploring different ways to create an impact with the leaf stamps. I liked both the Black embossing powder effect and the White embossed leaves. What's your preference? Both the sentiment and the leaves are embossed with black embossing powder . I love how glossy they are. And a square card is good for a different effect. Kraft cardstock is one of my favourites for its punch and presence. A simple strip of coordinating paper behind adds a touch of glamour. The white leaves were heat embossed and then I coloured in the leaves using a marker. The mat of patterned paper added a touch of mixed colour for a different look. I do love using up retired product with new product. I'm sure you have some in your stash which would work well with this layout. At my recent class we focused on the fabulous Layering Leaves stampset . I created several designs that used just the stampset, then some that also used the coordinating bough punch . We used a lot of blues. Each leaf sprig was stamped on a slightly different angle, and at slightly different heights to give a more organic feel to the image. The leaf "in-fill" stamp was stamped off a few times to give a really faint random image which added a subtle hint of colour and background texture. The same technique was applied to the next class card but in a larger panel for a different effect. The cute little "dottage" stamp was used to create the lower border. Playing around with the stamps to create a background panel I tried vertical and horizontal rows, with the images both upright and upside-down. I used pencil lines drawn 1 1/4" apart as a guide for the stems. Here's a few ideas Multiple rows also worked well And as an alternative I then stamped a flower image...

For my Layering Leaves class I have been playing with both the Stampset on its own and together with the punch. #simplestamping is a concept where you just use stamps, ink and paper. It's a harder technique for me because I love lots of layers and I have the coordinating Bough Punch. And of course with the the Die cut and Emboss machine you can create endless detailed layers. It's good to go back to basics and explore the possibilities of using the stampset alone. I have a few cards where I created a large panel of background paper using the stamps in random patterns, or others where I used them in more ordered rows and stripes. I liked these the best. In cut these into smaller pieces and made them the focus of my card. Using each of the leaf sprig images I stamped in vertical rows using Berry Burst ink. For some interest I used Pool Party ink and the Leaf fill in image and randomly stamped over the top although it was stamped off for a less intense image. Finally I used the ...

As you know I love a Fancy Fold - who doesn't? And I love the Bendi card which is quite fun to make. We made these at a class recently using the beautiful  Countryside Inn DSP. The Blue and White papers are really versatile and easy to mix and match. I love the font in the Layering Leaves stampset , it adds a touch of elegance to any card, and there are sentiments for every occasion. The sweet little birthday cake is from the Circle Sayings Stampset  which comes bundled with the 2 3/8" circle punch which makes life really easy. I have detailed instructions on how to put these cards together from another post on 17 February 2023.  For a bit of added sparkle and some textural interest I painted the cupcake with Shimmery White Embossing Paste I hope you'll give this fancy fold a try, it's a lot of fun.
