Welcome back to CASEing the Catty - we are all catching up on our regular duties after the fun of On Stage at the Gold Coast last weekend.  You may have arrived here from Monique's blog , so welcome, I hope you find lots of inspiration as you continue around the crew. For Mother's Day this year I have a whole range of cards for the CQ Craft Expo next weekend, and I have one of those for you today. It is inspired by the card on page 121 of the Annual Catalogue which feature 2 sets I love that are sadly retiring.  I will miss Summer Silhouettes - but don't worry There are plenty of gorgeous flower sets coming in the new Catalogue. This is almost a direct CASE from the catalogue and the beauty of that is that it came together  really quickly. I added a few extra layers and some extra texture but I do love a quick card. I'm so excited about this new blog as they are all amazing designers and some of the team members are among my favourite card makers and designers. It will be lovely to see what they all create each week.  To start things off they have gone with a colour scheme. You can check out the Blog with all the team members Here I have gone for another wedding card as the colours are so well suited. There is a lot of clear embossing on the different papers - French Script (sadly retired - my first ever Stampin' Up! purchase and still a favourite!) on the So Saffron   DSP paper and Gorgeous Grunge on the Pink Pirouette.  I did some So Saffron aqua painting for the background and tissue flowers, and  I used the  Pewter Embossing Powder  (sadly retired) on the Expressions Naturals Elements quite easily. Spoilt for choice for inspiration this week! Welcome to the bloghop for CASEing the Catty - using the EVERYDAY section of the catalogue for inspiration. You will have arrived here from the fabulous Rebecca , I know you will have seen some amazing inspiration so for, and you can go right around the circle if this is your first stop . For my inspiration I used the white grateful card on page 87. I used the beautiful leaf image from  World of Dreams  to cover the lefthand flap of the card and then fussy cut around the edges. I do love the Brick Wall embossing folder.  To make the small white flowers stand out I punched them out of Shimmery White card with the Itty Bitty Accents flower punch . The sentiment is one of the handy ones from All Boxed Up. I used the fine metallic silver thread as a highlight and some silver rhinestones. Saturday June 13 saw 26 participants making cards and having a great afternoon raising funds for the Western Qld Drought Appeal. Many of the ladies had never tried card making but everyone had a lovely afternoon and went home with 4 cards they had made themselves. These were the cards I designed. Each table had a Stampin Up demonstrator from my little team guiding and assisting, and participants moved from table to table working at their own pace. My beautiful Mum and her cousin came up on the train from Nambour to Rockhampton to help and they ran the Crafternoon Tea buffet superbly. Hello again, we have all been busy poring over the new catalogue and this weeks challenge was to make something inspired by any item which jumped out at you from the catalogue. Well that sounds easy..... Welcome, you will have come form Kathryn's beautiful blog and I hope you get inspired as you travel around the blog hop. There were quite a few things that inspired me but I am going to go with a beautiful card which has all the hallmarks of my favourite style - layering! I am pretty sure the Awesomely Artistic will be one of the first stamp sets I purchase  as it has so many lovely elements. Well since I had the inks out, and since I did a few classes with a Card in a Box, and since I am known for not knowing when to stop….. I have a second card for the JAI colour challenge this week. Maybe Orange is not so hard after all. The retiring In Colours are the inspiration for this latest challenge from Just Add Ink. They are some of my favourite colours so it was not hard to make  card using them as the focus. In fact I have been using these colours a lot lately trying to use up some of the DSP. the problem in fact is in deciding which card to enter! I love patchwork cards and my previous designs used the 1" square, but I have made the latex ones using the hexagon punch.. After they are  adhered to the base square I run them through the Bigshot with an Embossing Folder to give the look of a quilted piece before embellishing. These ones use Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit. My other card for this challenge is a flower Box card - it stands up like a flower box but folds flat to fit inane envelope- however it is not as bulky as a card in a box. After flowers, butterflies would have to be the next most common attachment to my cards, so I didn't have to agonise for too long over what to do! Have had this card in a box half done for ages so it is good to have finished it. It is actually a Mother's Day card. I used Summer Silhouettes and Nature Walk , and a tiny bit of glitter(of course). White heat embossed Hello Doily stamp on crumb cake, mounted on Early Espresso Cardstock, layered up on a Soft Sky card base which I embossed for some added texture. The Happy Birthday sentiment from Label Love is heat embossed with the Pool Party embossing powder, sponged with Soft Sky ink and layered up on soft Sky and Early Espresso C'ordinations cardstock which has been sanded. The little flower is made using the Boho blossoms punch and the layers are held together with the flat base brad topped with a little pearl. The pool party twine from the Sale-a-Bration pack works well too. A few little sequins and pearls for bling, and the leaf image from Summer Silhouettes to finish it off.
